yourself, Autumn. If you need a break, just let me know.”

His voice was filled with genuine concern, and it made her heart swell. She could feel the weight of his gaze, and it was both comforting and overwhelming.

“I’m fine, really,” she reassured him, trying to convey her sincerity. “I just need to get used to this whole family gathering thing.”

Owen smiled, a soft, reassuring smile that lit up his face. “You’re doing great. Just be yourself. Everyone here already loves you.”

As they stepped further into the courtyard, the atmosphere buzzed with laughter and chatter. The scent of delicious food wafted through the air, mingling with the sound of clinking glasses and cheerful greetings.

“Look at all this,” Nina exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “It’s like a scene from a movie!”

Autumn couldn’t help but agree. The grand courtyard was adorned with twinkling fairy lights and beautifully arranged tables, each one a feast for the eyes.

“Is this how every family dinner is?” Autumn asked, half in awe and half in disbelief.

Nina nodded enthusiastically. “Pretty much! My brother always goes all out. It’s like he wants to impress everyone, but honestly, you’re the one who’s going to steal the show tonight.”

“Me?” Autumn’s voice was laced with disbelief. “I’m just here to support Owen.”

“Oh, come on! You’re the glowing, pregnant wife of the man of the hour. You’re the star!” Nina insisted, nudging her playfully.

“Let’s just hope I don’t trip over my own feet,” Autumn chuckled nervously.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be right by your side,” Nina promised, linking their arms tighter as they made their way through the crowd.

Just then, a voice boomed from across the courtyard. “Owen! There you are!”

An older gentleman, one of Owen’s uncles, made his way towards them, his arms open wide for an embrace. Owen greeted him warmly, and Autumn stood back, observing the interactions.

“Autumn, come meet my uncle!” Owen called, gesturing her over.

As she approached, she felt a flutter of nerves in her stomach. “Hello, sir,” she offered, her voice steady despite the anxiety bubbling beneath the surface.

“Ah, the lovely Autumn! So good to finally meet you!” he exclaimed, pulling her into a surprisingly warm hug. “I’ve heard so much about you. Owen’s told us you’re quite the catch!”

“Thank you, it’s nice to meet you too,” she replied, feeling her cheeks heat up.
