“What are you doing?”

Autumn Lopez noticed the house staff were still bustling around, and she saw them snickering at what Owen

Bennett was doing.

She felt a little shy and turned, her gaze meeting his eyes, which were filled with tenderness.

Owen was genuinely gorgeous.

His face was practically a divine masterpiece.

Even though Autumn wasn’t one to judge by looks, she was still stunned by his face every time she saw it.

Thinking that this perfect man would soon be her husband, Autumn silently cursed her past self for being so

clueless.

If she had known Owen would one day be her other half, she would have exercised her rights much sooner.

“Did that scare you?” Owen asked, seeing the tip of her nose and the corners of her eyes were still red. She looked as endearing as a kitten. He leaned in and gently kissed the corner of her eye..

Autumn felt his affection, and her heart completely melted.

“Not really. It just feels… surreal.”

Owen chuckled. “Surreal?”

He never would’ve expected her to come up with a word like that.

“Yeah, it’s totally surreal.”

“I never imagined your mom was the famous actress, Charlotte Morgan.”

“And I never expected your parents to be completely okay with my past, let alone the scene Mars just caused.”

“Owen, honestly… I’m a little jealous of you.”

Owen raised an eyebrow. “Quite a jump in topics, don’t you think?”

Why on earth was she suddenly jealous of him?

“It’s just… I’m so jealous that you have such amazing parents.”

Autumn thought of her own family, and her expression grew dim and a little anxious.

“Can I really marry into a family this wonderful?”

In the past, Autumn had always felt like a kite.

She never thought Mars could be so vicious.

She’d felt grateful more than once for having met Owen.

It felt like fate that her and Owen’s child was now growing inside her.

They had been strangers, but this child, this blood they shared, brought their lives together.

They got to know each other, fell in love, and now they had chosen one another, determined to build a future together.

Before Owen said all this, a part of Autumn was still hesitant–a shadow cast by her failed marriage and the shackles of her family.

He steadied himself against the doorframe, a wounded look on his face. “What’s wrong? Did I make you uncomfortable?”

Autumn’s face instantly turned beet red.

“You! Don’t say things that can be so easily misunderstood!”

Seeing how flustered and shy she was, Owen realized what was happening and glanced around.

Sure enough, he saw them all trying to hide their laughter.

No wonder Autumn was so embarrassed.

“Don’t you all have work to do?”

Autumn groaned and slapped his arm, sighing helplessly. “Now they’re definitely going to be gossiping about

us.”

A smile tugged at Owen’s lips, but he faked a fierce tone. “Who would dare laugh at us?”

“Besides, we’re a married couple. Isn’t it normal to be a little affectionate?”

“Who says we’re a married couple?”

Autumn pouted, her eyes darting away. “We’re not actually married yet, you know.”
