[Mr. Sullivan is a real gentleman. He won’t trash your place, so feel free to invite him on board.]

[Mr. Sullivan is super humble and friendly. If you run into him, he’ll always give you some great tips. Don’t miss out if you get the chance!)

Leeanne read through it and couldn’t help but be impressed. Mr. Sullivan actually seems like a decent guy, unlike his 49 disciples. Each of them has their own quirks, and some of them aren’t even that good at what they do, she thought.

But then she wondered, Is it really that simple? I don’t buy that the game would be this nice.

Most players didn’t really overthink it. Seeing how awesome Lucas seemed, everyone was super excited and full of anticipation.

[Mr. Sullivan doesn’t wreck your place, doesn’t have any odd habits, and he’s kind and friendly. That’s pretty great!]

[Yeah, plus if you run into him, you get to learn new skills.]

[He has to be way better than the disciples, right? Even the disciples can teach stuff like keeping warm in winter and cool in summer. His skills must be amazing. Man, I wish I could meet him.]

[Come on, don’t get your hopes up. There are nearly 100,000 people here, and the odds of meeting him are not even one in a thousand. With my luck, I can forget about it. Only a handful of top players might get lucky.]

[Yeah, those top players always seem to have insane luck. Like Robin from our District 34.]

[Robin’s got nothing on Leeanne. She’s way better; she’s snagged first place several times.]

[I still think Robin’s the better one. He only has fewer supplies than Leeanne because he’s got more integrity and refuses to be a shady trader.]

Spike: [Who’s the idiot up there? I’m about to throw up from all this nonsense!]

Ellery: [Yeah, sure. Robin won’t be a shady trader, but he’s got no problem being a killer!]

Max: [That’s enough, you ungrateful punks!]

Spike: [Who’s ungrateful? Are you talking about your master? Dumbass!]

The chat channel was a total mess.

Suddenly, Robin burst out laughing. Hey, I just scored something awesome, let me show you all Mr. Sullivan’s Guidebook

[Mr. Sullivan: 1. He doesn’t like; 2. He doesn’t like; 3. He doesn’t like. J

Everyone stared at it, puzzled. Robin, what does Mr. Sullivan not like? Why can’t we see it?]

Robin smirked, showing off. He isn’t like his disciples. For example, this guidebook is only visible to me. Even if I share it, you guys can’t see the details!]

Everyone nodded in realization [Ah, got it 1

But then everyone started to wonder again (Didn’t they say Mr. Sullivan doesn’t have any weird habits, has a good temper, and always guides players? So how come he has even more taboos than his disciples?]

[Yeah, his disciples only have one rule to follow, but he’s got three?]

Robin grinned. [Just because Mr. Sullivan won’t wreck your place doesn’t mean you know what he’ll actually teach you. If you ignore his taboos, he might end up showing you something sketchy, like how to cut corners.]

Everyone nodded in agreement.

So, the quickwitted ones immediately started buttering up Robin. [Nice one, Robin! You really do have the luck. Already got his guidebook. Even if you never meet him, you could probably sell this info for a fortune, right?]

Max: [Hey, our boss has always been lucky!]

Max shot a pointed look. [Just a warning to some people, don’t be too ruthless. If you’re too nasty, even the game won’t give you any luck!]

Max: [Our boss was number one in District 34, and now that he’s in District 33, he can still be number one!]

Robin, usually pretty lowkey, actually let Max brag this time. He totally agreed with him.

Max was mostly throwing shade at Leeanne. After all, he still thought she’d ripped him off for 2.000 woods and nails, leaving him and Robin short on supplies and struggling to get by.

Leeanne had already turned off her chat screen because Snowy came to find her.

Snowy sounded nervous. Master, Little Blue’s arguing with someone!

Leeanne glanced around. Where’s Little Blue? You’re the only one who talks to me, who else could it even be fighting with?

Snowy strained her ears. It’s arguing with Apprentice 49. They’re pretty far away, so I can’t make out what they’re saying!

Apprentice 49? Isn’t that Mr. Sullivan’s youngest disciple?Leeanne thought. She frowned slightly. I don’t have any info on him. No clue what his taboos are. And how did Little Blue end up fighting with him?”

She quickly reached out to Little Blue, and in no time, it flew back, huffing and putting. That little brat actually insulted

me!

Leeanne asked, puzzled, Who insulted you?

Little Blue was fuming. “I was flying overhead and spotted a tiny boat below. There was a little squirt on it, and as soon as be saw me, he yelled, Hey, big goose, check me out!

Leeanne echoed, Big goose?

Little Blue was fuming. Is he blind or what? Calling me a big goose? Does he think geese look this good? I was sy pissed. I totally let him have it

Leeanne was speechless. Seriously? That’s what set you off?

Little Blue huffed, Why not? What’s the problem? He called me a goose, of course, Fu gonna clap ba k

Snowy asked, So you spent all that time yelling at him just because of that?

Little Blue puffed up, feathers bristling Do you even know what a goose is! That’s an insult!

It flicked its gorgeous tail feathers. Just look at me, do I look anything like those fat, clumsy geese?

Snowy glanced at its round belly and muttered, Honestly, lose the tail, and you’re basically a goose.

Little Blue snapped. You little lamb, you wanna die?

Leeanne hurried to break them up. Alright, alright, knock it off. Hey, check this out!

From afar, a small boat drifted over with no one aboard. Why is there no one on this boat?Leeanne muttered.

Soon, the boat got closer, and a little guy popped his head out from the bow, grinning at Leeanne. Hey, pretty, can I come hang out on your boat for a bit?

Leeanne spotted his name, Apprentice 49, Lucas’s youngest disciple.

Wow, he’s really small!Leeanne thought. He was tiny, with a round, smiling face, so adorable that he looked like he was only five or six years old.

He waved happily at Leeanne, holding a piece of paper in his hand.

Should I let him come aboard?Leeanne was still hesitating when Little Blue suddenly darted up to the top of the wooden pleasure boat and shouted at the kid, Hey, squirt, what are you doing here?

His expression shifted the moment he saw Little Blue. Big goose! He spun his boat around and bolted. He took off so fast that Leeanne didn’t even have time to stop him.

Leeanne got anxious. She’d been watching the paper in his hand; it looked like there was a lot written on it. She had a gut feeling the paper was important, so she quickly told Little Blue, Go, call him back. If you can’t, just get that paper from him and bring it to me.”

From the chat channel, she knew that Lucas’s disciples all had some hidden quirks, odd habits nobody really knew about. If she wasn’t clear on their preferences or taboos, letting one of them on board could end up costing her dearly.

Leeanne had a ton of supplies on her boat, plus the mystical cherry grove. She couldn’t afford to take any risks. So, she wasn’t too upset when Apprentice 49 left. But that paper, she had to get her hands on it.

Seeing Leeanne’s face looking grim, Little Blue didn’t dare hesitate and shot off after him.

Snowy perked up her ears, listened for a bit, then said, Master, Little Blue’s trying to sweettalk Apprentice 49 but he really can’t stand it and just won’t come back.

After a moment, Snowy continued, Even that silly bird is backing down for him. That’s pretty rare, looks like it actually cares about your orders.

Leeanne glanced at Snowy, surprised she was even putting in a good word for Little Blue. She hasn’t planned on punishing

Little Blue anyway.

After a while, Little Blue flew back, a piece of paper clamped in its beak. It dropped the paper next to Leeanne, all fusing He wouldn’t come back, so I swiped his homework

Leeanne looked surprised. Homework?

Little Blue answered, Yeah, that’s what the squirs called it!

Leeanne unfolded the paper. The first line was written in big, bold letters (My Favorite Master, Mr. Sullivan)
