The Double Drop Buff Surviving The Endless Ocean novel Chapter 150

Chapter 150

Meanwhile, a game announcement popped up in the chat channel: [Lucas has boarded Leeanne’s raft!]

Chaos broke out among the players.

[Wait, did I just see that right? Why is Mr. Sullivan back on Leeanne’s raft again?]

[Yeah, didn’t he just get off? Why is he back again?]

[Where’s Robin? Why hasn’t he invited Mr. Sullivan yet? What’s he saving that invitation card for? Is he planning to do something weird with it or what?]

[Robin’s so useless! He’s got the invitation card and still can’t get Mr. Sullivan to show up. What a loser!]

[That’s seriously embarrassing for him!]

Robin’s face turned ashen. He typed: [Leeanne, you’ve gone overboard!]

Leeanne: [What did I even do?]

Robin: [Why did you have Mr. Sullivan come back to your raft again?]

Leeanne: [He just likes it here, okay? He took a look around, got bored, and didn’t want to risk getting invited by someone he doesn’t like, so he came back to chill with me. What’s wrong with that? Is that not allowed or something?]

Robin completely lost it. [You’re cheating!]

Leeanne fired back: [If you got the guts, why don’t you cheat too?]

Robin was literally shaking with rage. Leeanne was driving him absolutely crazy!

After riling Robin up, Leeanne felt much better. She turned around and saw Lucas smiling warmly at her.

Lucas asked, Lovely adventurer, what’s your name?

Leeanne asked, Huh?

Lucas was warm and approachable, yet his question left Leeanne puzzled.

He’s asking for my name again. Didn’t he just ask me that carlier?Leeanne thought.

Then it hit her. Apprentice 49 had written in his essay that Lucas had recently become quite forgetful, sometimes forgetting things only minutes after they happened.

So he really forgot everything that just happened?Leeanne thought, a bit taken aback. That’s way too quick!

Leeanne told Lucas her name again.

Lucas nodded and, without being prompted, made himself comfortable at the table.

What’s he doing?Leeanne wondered. Oh, he wants to have coffee and munch on snacks!

Leeanne quickly set out all kinds of fruits and snacks, and Lucas happily dug in.

After snacking for a bit, Lucas clapped his hands, looked up at the sun, and smiled warmly. Lovely adventurer, would you mind if I stayed for lunch?

Leeanne was caught completely off guard by his words.

She could not help but glance at Lucas’s belly.

Lucas had already eaten so much that his stomach was round and full, almost as big as Little Blue’s.

Wait, didn’t Mr. Sullivan just have lunch? Why is he eating again?Leeanne thought, totally baffled. Seriously, even if he forgot he just ate, shouldn’t he feel stuffed?

Leeanne glanced up at the sun, just like Lucas had. It was already a bit past noon, the sun starting to drift west.

Is it even lunchtime right now?Leeanne thought, still confused. Is this just how the game’s programmed?

Seeing Leeanne standing there in silence, Lucas looked confused and asked once more, Is that okay?

Leeanne quickly nodded. Of course! Sully, go ahead and look around. I’ll whip up some lunch.”

She did not dare refuse.

Lucas appeared kind and easy to please, yet Leeanne could not ignore the possibility that it was merely part of the system’s design. If she failed to feed Lucas, he might simply leave. Even worse, it might trigger an unfavorable event.

So Leeanne had no choice but to get cooking, whipping up the exact same meal she just made earlier.

When the food was served, Lucas polished it all off again.

After that, he started pacing around the raft again.

Leeanne silently followed Lucas, but as they walked, she suddenly stopped.

She thought, Huh? Mr. Sullivan’s going through everything all over again. He really did forget what just happened, even what he taught me.

Since he’s starting over, maybe I can get another round of teaching out of him. Scratch that. Time to be arrogant again.”

Leeanne stopped, stomped on the raft, and flashed a smug grin. Sully, check out my raft! Isn’t it way cooler than your tiny

>oat?

Lucas glanced back, one eyebrow lifting slightly. You? How bold of you to think that.

Leeanne shot back, “What, you’re not convinced?

Lucas grinned, full of himself. You really are just an ignorant fool. Come on, let me show you what real skills look like!

Leeanne rolled her eyes. Oh please, with that crappy little boat of yours, what skills could you possibly have?

Lucas snorted. Are you underestimating me?

Leeanne shot back, Yeah, I am. What are you gonna do about it?

Lucas glared at her. Just wait and see!

[Lucas has passed on the Ironclad Fortress technique to Leeanne: her raft’s durability is now boosted by 300%! Thanks to

Lucas’s handson upgrade, Leeanne’s raft morphed into a massive wooden ship, and she can now switch between ship and raft modes whenever she wants!]

[Lucas has used up way too many of his supplies. Feeling down, he left Leeanne’s raft without a word.]

[Lucas trudged on with his journey, looking totally dispirited.]

As soon as those three game announcements dropped, the chat channel went wild.

[What just happened? Why is Mr. Sullivan so bummed out?]

[Did you miss it? Leeanne’s raft turned into a giant wooden ship! Mr. Sullivan had to cough up all the materials for her, so of course, he’s not happy!]

[Why did Mr. Sullivan teach Leeanne again? Didn’t he already teach her once? Why is he doing it all over again?]

[No clue, I’m totally confused too. I feel bad for Mr. Sullivan, looking so down as he continues with his journey]

[Leeanne actually dared to milk Mr. Sullivan? Is she not afraid of getting herself killed?]

[Looks like she’s doing great, but Mr. Sullivan’s really having a rough time, heh!]

[I really gotta hand it to Leeanne. She milks every opportunity for all it’s worth!]

Leeanne just shook her head, knowing this was not her fault.

She had merely mouthed off a bit to Lucas, but he went all out, teaching her the Ironclad Fortress technique and guiding her through every step. Her raft basically turned into his personal training arena.

Maybe Lucas got a little carried away, or maybe he just noticed how completely out of supplies Leeanne was. Whatever the reason, Lucas pulled out his own materials and fixed everything for Leeanne.

Every part of the raft, from the deck to the railings to the rudder, was crafted from the finest black goldwood. Lucas was a stickler for quality and dismissed Leeanne’s materials, using his own instead. She could not have stopped him even if she tried.

Of course, Leeanne did not try too hard to stop him.

If she had actually succeeded, she would probably regret it for the rest of her life.

As soon as he finished teaching, Lucas dashed off the raft like he was running for his life, not even giving Leeanne a chance to thank him.

[Robin used an invitation card to invite Lucas to his raft!]

[Lucas is in a foul mood and doesn’t want to talk to anyone!]

Robin stared at the announcement speechlessly.

Spike: [Pfft, this is way too funny! LOL!]

Ellery: [Man, you really can’t do shady stuff. If you do, even the universe turns its back on you!!

Everyone else was just as confused.

[Mr. Sullivan is really wilful, isn’t he?]

[How’s that being wilful? He just used up a ton of his own resources. If he’s in a bad mood and wants to ghost everyone, that’s totally understandable.]

[Yeah, honestly, I feel bad for Mr. Sullivan. Leave him alone, guys!]

[But isn’t Robin even more pitiful? He’s just sitting there with an invitation card he can’t use, no matter what. He must be losing his mind right now!]

[Serves him right!]

[Robin used an invitation card to invite Lucas to his raft!]

[Lucas has fallen into a deep sleep]

Robin felt like he was about to go insane!

At this point, everyone just lost it, and the chat channel exploded with laughter.

[Oh man, this is hilarious! I hereby declare Robin the unluckiest guy in District 33!]

[Poor guy, but honestly, it’s kind of funny. Robin’s really having a rough time!]

[I was so jealous of Robin previously, thinking he was super lucky to get that invitation card. But now, I don’t envy him at all!]

[Right? We’re just laughing and having a good time, but Robin is all wound up, anxious, and stressed out. He’s probably on the verge of losing his mind.]

Robin was indeed about to lose his mind.
