Chapter 156
Leeanne studied it for a while, and the more she looked, the more satisfied she became.
Unfortunately, Lucas only modified the outer wall of the raft. The pantry, wooden pleasure boat, and warehouse were still scattered haphazardly across the boat, just like before
The wooden pleasure boat, pantry, and the rest were all made from common wood, which looked instantly dull and unimpressive next to the Black Gold Wood Leeanne couldn’t help but think, It’s just a fancy shell with nothing but a mess inside
That was exactly what her current wooden boat looked like.
She needed to rethink her layout and make some new plans.
She suddenly remembered that she still had the blueprint for a two–story villa. She could check that out.
Leeanne immediately took out the blueprint for the two–story illa that Lucas had given her.
It was a wooden villa built right on the boat, two stories tall, with a big terrace.
Leeanne was all fired up to build a two–story villa, but when she looked at the materials list, her mood instantly dropped.
[Two–Story Wooden Villa: A two–story villa perfect for setting up on a boat. Materials needed: 10,000 Advanced Redbeak Wood, 10,000 Advanced White Pine, 5,000 Advanced Red Oak, 2,000 Advanced Yellow Teak, 20,000 nails, 500 glass, 1.000 colored blue tiles.]
The long list of Advanced materials made Leeanne’s eyes pop.
Aside from nails and glass, she’d never even heard of the rest.
Leeanne thought, ‘Yeah, no way. This stuff’s way out of my league. I’ll deal with it some other time.”
She rolled up the blueprint, planning to stash it in her storage chest.
[Alert! Survival task issued. Build a two–story wooden villa. Reward: 1 automatic dishwasher, 1 automatic toilet, I automatic garbage disposal unit.]
‘Whoa, so many automatic gadgets? Leeanne thought.
The list of rewards was so dazzling that it practically blew Leeanne’s mind.
A dishwasher and a garbage disposal unit were exactly what she needed right now. Washing dishes was exhausting, and the trash just kept piling up. She always felt a pang of guilt every time she chucked it into the ocean.
And that automatic toilet? She needed that too. With a two–story villa, having just one toilet was just not going to cut it.
‘Alright, I’m in, Leeanne thought, fired up.
Honestly, Leeanne had no room to say no. The system never bothered asking if she wanted the task. It just tempted her with shiny rewards.
The best thing about the survival system? It never handed out punishments.
The only punishment was missing out on those sweet rewards. And since every systein task was about survival, she really had no choice but to do them.
‘I bet the score would go way up with a two–story villa, Leeanne thought.
Right now, boosting her raft’s rating was her main mission, so she had to accept this task, no matter what. No matter how hard it was, she’d get it done.
Leeanne unfurled the villa blueprint again and looked it over for ages. Then she opened the trading hall and searched for the materials one by one.
‘Perfect. Just perfect,‘ Leeanne muttered inwardly. “There’s not even a single one found in the trading hall. Where am I supposed to find all this wood?”
Leeanne felt totally defeated. She grabbed her stat–boosting mysterious cherries and began flooding the trading hall with trade offers.
She set the prices for her cherries sky–high.
[I mysterious cherry for 10,000 Advanced Red Mahogany, I mysterious cherry for 10,000 Advanced White Pine, I mysterious cherry for 10,000 Advanced Red Oak.]
Once she finished listing everything, Leeanne flexed her wrist and stifled a yawn. It was night again.
‘Oh, right, I still have that double bonus luck boost today. Time to crack open some chests,‘ Leeanne thought.
The sea demon vine had hauled in a pile of chests, and Leeanne started cracking them open one after another.
[Wooden chest opened. With a double bonus blessing today, you’ve scored 2 swing chairs. Items have been sent to your backpack.]
‘Swing chairs?‘ Leeanne wondered.
She quickly pulled them out.
There were two white swing chairs. Each chair came with its own stand and was suspended so it could swing back and forth.
The chairs looked like they were woven from vines, with a reclined backrest and arms that curved outward. They were about 5 feet 5 inches long, perfect for one person to lie down comfortably.
The meatballs were frozen, and each bag had enough for three or four people to share.
Frozen food needed to be stored in a fridge. Leeanne wondered when she would have a fridge.
For now, she could only stash them in her storage chest. It wasn’t perfect, but at least it could keep food fresh for a bit.
[Wooden chest opened. With a double bonus blessing today, you’ve scored 2 sandwiches. Items have been sent to your backpack.J
‘More food again? That’s a rare treat. I haven’t gotten any snacks in ages, Leeanne thought.
[Wooden chest opened. With a double bonus blessing today, you’ve scored 2 bags of frozen mini fried doughnuts. Items have been sent to your backpack.
[Wooden chest opened. With a double bonus blessing today, you’ve scored 2 bags of grilled duck. Items have been sent to your backpack.]
Leeanne rubbed her hands together eagerly.
Alright, I’ve got more than enough food now. Can I get something actually useful for once? Don’t waste this double bonus luck on snacks, she thought.
[Wooden chest opened. With a double bonus blessing today, you’ve scored 2 copies of Apprentice 23’s intro guide. Items have been sent to your backpack,]
‘Apprentice 23? Isn’t that Lucas’s apprentice, who’s a demolitionist?‘ Leeanne thought.
She’d been tearing down tons of rafts lately. Word was, Apprentice 23 was Lucas’s most active apprentice. She was fant and efficient.
Once she boarded a raft, she’d start ripping things apart, then leave without a word or asking the player for food or drinks.
As for her reputation, honestly, no one dared to say anything bad about her.
After all, rumor had it that Apprentice 23 would even come back for a second round, as if she actually provided follow–up service.
Leeanne pulled out Apprentice 23’s intro guide.
[Apprentice 23: Lucas’s twenty–third apprentice. Young, insanely talented, capable, and nimble. She might even be a bit clingy, just an adorable little thing. She’s Apprentice 49’s older sister.
[Thanks to her insane talent and brute strength, Lucas has her pegged as an apprentice before she was even born. She’s honestly just a normal kid. Seriously, she’s just a kid.]
“That’s it?‘ Leeanne thought.
