Chapter 164
Rodger and Danelle were in the Advanced White Pine Forest. Leeanne took Emmett and Gideon to the Advanced Rebekk Wood Forest, and had William guard the Advanced Red Oak Forest. Each of them was tasked with recruiting players
Rodger, Danelle, and the others immediately got to work, gathering players together.
The chat channel was going wild.
I’ve got an Advanced iron axe and a Summon Token. Why’d you reject me? Come on, I wanna join!]
That’s what you get for waiting! They’re already full.]
I made it! So many Advanced White Pins. This is great!]
Anyone caught a glimpse of Leeanne yet? I’ve always wondered how she looks, how old she is, and whether she’s pretty or ot.]
Got your eye on her or what?]
No way, who’d dare even think about that with Leeanne? Just gossiping, you know.]
Whoa, look at all that red! We’re in the Advanced Redbeak Wood Forest. Redbeak Wood is seriously premium wood, even he Common kind is super rare, and now we’ve got Advanced Redbeak Wood everywhere.
I’m thrilled, seriously thrilled! Furniture made from this stuff looks amazing and super classy. I’m really cashing in this ime!]
Any chance you can snag a bit for me?]
Keep dreaming! We already said, you only get to chop two for yourself after the job’s done. We’re here to work, not just ness around. Get your priorities straight!]
Honestly, being able to chop two for myself is already a win. This job’s less than ten hours, and even if I just get two pieces of Advanced Redbeak Wood, that’s a great payday. Let’s give it our all, everyone!]
Ugh, I’m so jealous! I wanna work too, but I just can’t snag a Summon Token.]
I’ve got it all–Summon Token, Advanced iron axe, everything! Leeanne, can I join? Got room for one more?]
Meanwhile, Leeanne was already heading off on a new trail with Apprentice 23 and Apprentice 49.
Their mission? Find the Yellow Teak trees.
Apprentice 49 swore he’d spotted Yellow Teak here before, but had no clue where Bob had moved them.
So, the three of them set out to track them down.
They followed the cobblestone path, making their way deeper into the Advanced island.
This place was crawling with wild beasts, but Apprentice 23 said as long as they stuck to Bob’s stone path, they’d be safe from
beast attacks.
And according to the usual pattern, the Advanced Yellow Teak groves were supposed to be right along the roadside.
They followed the cobblestone path for over an hour, spotting all sorts of trees along the way, but there was still no sign of
2:29 pm PPPP.
Chapter 164
Yellow Teak.
Why is this taking forever? Leeanne wondered.
Apprentice 49 was getting restless and took a seat on a wooden bench by the roadside. Leeanne didn’t want to push the kids too hard, so she offered them some strawberries to snack on.
She pulled up her chat screen.
She checked in with Rodger and Danelle to see how things were going on their end.
Rodger said: [It’s rough. Advanced wood is just way too tough to chop. Even after all this time, most folks have only managed to cut down a couple of trees, and everyone’s dead tired.]
William said: [Same here.]
Emmett said: [Damn, Advanced wood is a whole different beast. This is seriously exhausting!]
Gideon said: “You don’t even feel tired?”
Emmett said: “Hey, it’s not the same when someone else is doing all the work for you! Oh, and Gideon’s a beast. He’s already chopped down twelve trees. Leeanne, I’m not slacking, I promise! Between the two of us, that’s twelve trees, so split evenly. I did six myself!”
Leeanne said: “Whatever floats your boat.”
She did the math. Even with all her bonuses and her unbeatable set, she was still slower than Gideon at chopping wood. Guess that means Gideon’s Strength is still higher than mine. Man, that’s impressive, Leeanne thought.
Leeanne gave everyone a heads–up: [“First, stick to those groves. If you leave the safe zone and run into trouble, that’s on you. Second, we’re heading out in about ten hours.
You’ll get the last hour to chop some wood for yourselves, but for the first nine hours, make sure you meet your quota every hour and keep at it.]
She’d already crunched the numbers. She could chop six or seven trees an hour herself, and even if the others weren’t as strong, they should be able to handle at least three trees an hour, no problem.
With forty people working for nine hours, they should be able to chop over a thousand trees, so time shouldn’t be an issue.
Still, better safe than sorry,
Leeanne paused, then said, “Check things out. If you think we’re short on manpower, just bring in more people.”
She was basically making a profit with zero investment.
Whether she told one person or a hundred about the raft scoring rules, it didn’t matter. News spreads fast around here anyway. And the wood the players got was all from their own chopping.
Besides, she still wanted to leave the players a bit of time for themselves, so they could chop some wood for personal use.
But she didn’t want things to get out of hand, so Rodger and the others couldn’t recruit too many people.
After hearing Leeanne’s instructions, Rodger, Danelle, Emmett, William, and the rest jumped back into recruiting. Now that they were calling the shots, everyone had their own criteria.

Rodger cald (Recruiting 10 more feed Strength 18+. Advanced iron are, and a Summon Token Same deal as before DM me if you ward in 1
William said Looking for 5 more Same requirements and pay as Rodgers
Emmett said to to what they swirl]
The players immediately got fired up. Those who hadn’t been picked last time rushed to DM Rodger or William, hoping Jurk would finally be on their side.
But this time, the Strength requirement was way higher, knocking out a whole bunch of people. Some players grumbled
about it
(Wait, you never mentioned Strength before–now suddenly it’s a must? That’s messed up!]
[Yeah, Rodger, how come you guys are changing the rules on the fly?
[Well, that’s what happens when you’re not friends with Leeanne. If you were, you wouldn’t be stuck complaining about not getting picked. You’d be the one picking the team, not waiting to get picked.]
(Man, if I’d known Leeanne was this awesome, I would’ve totally tried to stick clone to her. Regret not jumping on that bandwagon sooner!)
[Please, as if any of Leeanne’s friends are weak]
(Who says there aren’t any? Isn’t Emmett kind of weak?)
Emmett said: [Hey, come on, why single me out? I’m not weak, alright? Gideon and I are averaging six trees an hour. Can any of you beat that?]
Rodger said: [We’re full
Emmett said: (We’re full tool
William said: [We’re full too!
Rodger and the crew brought in some more folks and jumped right back into chopping wood.
Leeanne closed her chat screen,
By now, Apprentice 49 was rested up, so they set off again. Leeanne sent Little Blue ahead to check things out.
Snowy insisted on coming out too. The moment it was free, it dashed off like a bolt of lightning, calling back, “Master, since we’re contracted, we can talk mind–to–mind as long as we’re close. I’ll go scout ahead–just call if you need me, and I’ll come running back”
With Little Blue and Snowy off scouting, the group kept moving forward.
As they walked, the path sloped downward, leading them into a sunken valley. Leeanne noticed the air growing thick and stuffy.
The valley was packed with towering trees that blocked out the sunlight, making it hot, humid, and oppressive. Leeanne was starting to feel overwhelmed by the heat and humidity.
Leeanne stopped. “Why did Bob even bother making a path out here?”
