The Double Drop Buff Surviving The Endless Ocean novel Chapter 39

Chapter 39

Camelia shook her head hard, trying to shake off the image. No chance. Sure, a few players has managed to snag seeds by now, but actual soil to plant them in?

Nobody has that kind of setup yet. And they’ve only been trapped in this game four or five days. No plant grow that fast, let alone sprouted flowers.

Was I just seeing things?

But she was a competitive archer in the real world; her eyesight was razorsharp. She’d never once flubbed a shot because of bad vision.

Or maybe going without meat is finally messing with me. Am I actually getting weaker?she wondered.

She stared at the blank screen, a nagging doubt settling in her stomach..

Leeanne, meanwhile, felt her heart skip a beat. The camera had tracked her every move during the session, and she’d nearly sprinted straight into the fencedoff area.

Did Camelia spot that?she wondered. Gotta be way more careful next time. Lock the camera down for good.

The morning haul from the sea demon vine brought three boxes. The usual basics like wood and nails, plus a nice bonus: a bag of pasta, two tomatoes, and a couple bottles of water.

The string beans were still too tender to save for seeds, so she cooked them fresh for lunch.

Worried the cherries might spoil soon, Leeanne grabbed one and ate it right away.

Sure enough, another free stat point popped up.

With the cherry down, she got to work on a proper

meal.

She was running low on fresh veggies, but she still had some button mushrooms from earlier.

So she made a hearty chicken stew with mushrooms, boiled a small pot of pasta, sautéed sweet potato greens, sliced beef with green beans.

She finished with a quick tomato soup. Two solid proteins, a veggie side, and soup. Pretty darn good spread.

She ate, kicked back for a bit, and waited until Camelia logged back on.

and cooked up

Leeanne resumed archery practice, but this time she’d locked the camera in a fixed position. All Camelia saw was a static shot of a long stretch of raft.

Even when Leeanne jogged out to pick up arrows, the view stayed put.

Camelia was quietly disappointed. She’d really wanted another look to confirm what she thought she’d glimpsed.

The afternoon zipped by, and Leeanne’s aim just kept getting tighter and more reliable.

The session ended right as the sun dipped below the horizon. Leeanne handed Camelia a thick slab of beef. That’s for today’s lesson.

Camelia took it with a polite nod and signed off.

Chapter 39

Alone again, Leeanne polished off the last cherry she’d saved from yesterday. Another free point popped up right on

schedule.

Still not maxed out?’ Leeanne thought.

The temptation was real. She decided to skip cooking dinner for now, wait until her stomach was actually growling, and test another cherry later.

With nothing else pressing, she finally tackled the bathroom project.

Leaving the hightech autotoilet and shower pod out in the open felt weird.

Good thing she could now build wooden structures and set the dimensions herselflike designing a little cabin

She built a compact room: about sixteen feet wide and seven feet deep, totaling roughly a hundred and ten square feet Spacious for a bathroom.

Back when she’d been saving for an apartment in the real world, the one she’d had her eye on only had a sixtyfivesquare-

foot bathroom.

One huge perk of Survival on the Seas: space was never a problem. Build as big as your materials let you.

She added a door, kept two walls solid wood, and turned the other two into floortoceiling glass for killer ocean views from inside.

Then she pulled out the pink cotton fabric Emmett had traded her, sewed a couple simple curtains, and hung them up.

Curtains open: breathtaking sea views. Curtains closed: total privacy.

Perfect!Leeanne thought to herself.

It still felt empty, thoughno table or chairs to fill the space.

She hopped into the small group chat. [Any of you got blueprints for a table and chairs?]

Rodger: [Nah. Emmett got lucky and scored some, built his own set. Nobody else has mentioned them.]

Danelle: [Guy’s got stupid luck. If he weren’t so out of shape, I’d be trying to recruit him.]

Rodger: [He already put a team together.]

Danelle: [Seriously? Somebody actually wanted him?]

Rodger: [His old driver. Exmilitary, tough as nails. Emmett’s loaded with supplies and hired the guyDude, Emmett’s luck is unreal.]

Danelle: [What now?]

Rodger: [He just opened a box and pulled a Summoning Token. It lets him call one person to join him for a full twentyfour hour.]

Danelle: [They have items like that?]

Rodger: [Yeah. Probably to prep for the island hunt.]

Leeanne raised an eyebrow but let it slide. She was technically on a team, but she wasn’t counting on anyone else. She had to

get stronger herself first.

Her arms were aching from a full day of archery, but she still grabbed the soft whip and practiced a little longer.

While swinging it, she tossed a message into regional chat: [Still hunting for table and chair blueprints!]

The channel lit up the second her name appeared.

[Leeanne, why bother with a table? Just stack two chests.]

[Bro, her life’s on another level. She’s got steak, chicken, fish whenever. You’re still scraping by on splinters]

[ManLeeanne’s already so set she’s decorating.]

Myron: [What’s the point of a table?]

Leeanne: [To put my cherries on, obviously.]

Danelle: [Lmao!]

Rodger: [Lmao!]

Emmett: [Leeanne, you trying to give Myron a heart attack?]

Half the chat spammed laughing emojis. Myron was fuming.

Jessica slid into her DMs: [Ronald’s got a full set of table and chair blueprints. He’s asking for a cherry in trade. You in?]
