Chapter 77
Leeanne opened the wooden box.
[You have opened the wooden box and obtained 1 Locating Card. It has been placed in your backpack.]
Leeanne wondered, ‘A Locating Card?
‘Is this what Myron picked up yesterday?‘
Leeanne took the Locating Card out of her backpack.
[Locating Card: Can determine a person’s location. Usage: 5/5.]
“Turns out I can use it five times,‘ Leeanne thought.

Leeanne paused, thinking to herself, ‘If Myron uses the Locating Card to pinpoint where I am, and then I change my position, he’ll have to use it again to find me.
‘If I repeat this process several times, he’ll burn through all the uses on his card.
‘Actually, there’s a way to handle him after all.‘
She had several aces up her sleeve. First, Myron had a Locating Card, but he didn’t know she had one too.
Second, she knew what weapons the Myron brothers had, but they had no idea what she was packing, or that she could set traps. Third, she already knew what the Myron brothers looked like.
It looked like she definitely had the upper hand here.
She put the Locating Card away and headed into the mystical cherry grove, but it seemed fortune wasn’t smiling on her oday.
just as she stepped out of the mystical cherry grove, the chat window was suddenly forced open.
Announcement: At 9 AM, all players in District 33 will be teleported to a massive deserted island. The island hunt is about o begin. Everyone will be both hunter and prey.
When the hunt ends, points earned on the island will be tallied. The top ten players will receive great rewards.
You have 10 minutes to prepare. Countdown begins now…]
The chat window blew up, some people were freaking out, some were fired up, some kept quiet, and others were just traight–up arrogant.
A person wrote: [Oh crap, it’s really happening. Everyone’s both hunter and prey. So it’s officially allowed to kill each other Jow?]
Another wrote: [Yeah, this is the island hunt, it’s players we’re alter, not monsters!]
Someone wrote: [I’m panicking here. I don’t think I’ve pissed anyone off, right? Guys, please don’t come for me.
Someone else wrote: [Dumbass, nobody cares who you pissed off. If I take you out, I might score some points!!
Myron laughed. [Don’t doubt it. Killing and looting is the whole point of this island hunt. Leeanne, are you ready?]

Mick sneered. [Leeanne, are you ready?]
Leeanne shot back without hesitation. [Bring it on!]

The chat channel was in total chaos, some were crying, some were ranting, and others were acting all high and mighty.
Leeanne took a moment to reorganize the supplies in her backpack.
‘I’ve got way too many strawberries. Should I leave one basket behind?‘ she wondered.
She hesitated, holding a basket of strawberries in her hand.
“Strawberries!” Suddenly, Little Blue’s cutesy voice piped up as it fluttered over and snatched up the basket of strawberries in its beak.
“Hey, didn’t you just eat? You little pig!” Leeanne grabbed it by the scruff of its neck.
[10, 9, 8, 7… 3, 2, 1. The hunt begins!]
Everything spun for a moment, Leeanne felt herself suddenly airborne, then landed with a soft thud on a patch of grass.
Her surroundings had completely changed.
Leeanne found herself standing on a grassy field, with a few small trees sparsely dotted around. To the east and west, thick woods loomed in the distance.
Leeanne wondered, ‘Is this the wild island they were talking about?
At least there’s plenty of greenery. I can start foraging for supplies.’
Leeanne stretched her arms and legs, then took a few steps toward the west.
‘Strawberries!” Suddenly, Little Blue’s voice rang out again.
Leeanne looked down and realized she was still holding the basket in one hand, with Little Blue tucked under her other arm.
Wait, I actually brought it along with me?‘ Leeanne thought, a bit stunned.
She let go of Little Blue, pinched off a strawberry and handed it to her, then casually stuffed the basket back into her backpack.
“Stingy!” Little Blue scarfed down the strawberry, still complaining.
Leeanne turned and tapped Little Blue on the beak. “Shush!. Keep squawking, and I’ll ditch you right here”
“Stingy!” Little Blue squawked, spread its wings, and zipped off.
Leeanne just stared, utterly speechless.
“Typical. I knew I couldn’t rely on this little rascal, she thought.
The Assault Squad chat was lighting up with frantic messages.
Rodger: [Leeanne, what’s your location? Hurry up!]
Danelle: [Myron’s already tracked you down, Leeanne! They’re almost on top of you.]

Leeanne quickly sent her coordinates to the squad, then opened the Local Chat. Myron was spamming the channel again.
Myron: [Leeanne, I’ve found you. Wilmot, go get her, you’re only a few dozen feet away!]
Wilmot Larson: [On it!]
Mick: [Wilmot, you go first. I’ll catch up in half an hour!]
Myron: [Fortune is on my side. Leeanne, just you wait!]
Leeanne’s heart skipped a beat.
‘Wilmot is nearby? Just a few yards away? Why is he so close?‘ Leeanne thought.
She looked around, alert for any sign of movement.
If Wilmot was nearby, he had to be either in the eastern woods or the western woods. The north and south were just wide open plains. If anyone was out there, she would’ve seen them already.
If he was in the eastern woods, that would be safer, they were farther away. But if he was in the western woods, that would be way too close.
‘Crap!‘ Leeanne thought, her stomach dropping.
Her heart clenched as she turned to look west.
Just then, the tall grass at the edge of the woods parted, and a man burst out.
He was a massive guy, easily six foot three, built like a tank. Even in this cold weather, he was rocking a short–sleeved T–shirt.
As he ran, the ground practically shook with every step.
‘Damn, what a monster,’ Leeanne thought, her eyes widening in disbelief.
Leeanne figured this had to be Wilmot.
Wilmot spotted Leeanne instantly and let out a triumphant laugh. “There she is. Myron, you were right, she’s barely a stone’s throw away. I’ve got her now!”
With that, he launched himself at her like a human cannonball, barreling forward with terrifying speed.
Leeanne immediately backed away, her right hand quietly wrapping around the flexible whip on her wrist.
She kept her gaze fixed on Wilmot.
Wilmot had nothing in his hands, so she still didn’t know what weapon he might have.
Wilmot cracked his knuckles and let out a booming laugh. “What, just a scrawny little gul? I don’t need backup for you! Leeanne, you’re dead meat.”
He lunged forward, reaching out to snatch her.
Leeanne darted aside, and with a loud snap, her flexible whip cracked through the air, aiming straight for Wilmot,

Wilmot’s eyes narrowed, and with lightning–fast reflexes, he dodged, her whip didn’t even graze him.

Without saying a word, Leeanne whipped her arm through the air, the whip snapping again and again, relentlessly striking at Wilmot, each crack echoing without a single pause.
Wilmot dodged left and right twice, then suddenly roared and hurled a massive hammer straight at Leeanne with brutal force.
‘So that’s his weapon!‘ Leeanne realized.
Leeanne spun out of the way in a flash, nimbly retreating several steps.
With a violent crash, the hammer smashed into a rock near Wilmot, stone chips exploded and sparks burst out in all directions.
Leeanne hissed in pain as a sharp sting shot through her wrist.
A jagged shard from the shattered rock had sliced across her wrist.
Blood began to drip down her wrist, one drop after another.
Wilmot saw the blood and let out a loud laugh. “Seriously? One hit and you’re already falling apart?”
With a sharp whir, the hammer came flying at her again.
Only then did Leeanne realize there was a heavy iron chain attached to the hammer. Wilmot gripped the chain in one hand, whipping the hammer through the air like a wild beast.
Leeanne gritted her teeth, whipping at Wilmot over and over, not giving him a second to breathe. She kept up the attack so he couldn’t even swing that hammer.
With her nonstop offense, Wilmot’s hammer was basically useless now.
