Chapter 123

Chapter 173

“Countdown: 29 seconds!

“Raargh…”

Under the red alarm lights, a zombie in tattered patient clothes closest to them lunged forward with a gaping mouth.

Bang!

Just as the zombie leapt, a bullet tore through the center of its forehead. A charred pea-sized hole marked its forehead, and at

the back of its skull, a bowl-sized crater opened up.

Dark red blood, mixed with pale gray brain matter, burst from the back of the zombie’s head. Its skull cracked like soft pudding, the contents splattering apart as if crushed by a sudden, brutal force. Under the impact, chunks of flesh and bone sprayed

outward.

In an instant, the zombie’s skull was a messy, bloody crater. Blood, brain matter, and shattered bone were fused into a

grotesque mass.

One shot to the head!

The headshot zombie fell stiffly to the ground.

Liam bellowed, “Push forward!”

At his command, every special forces soldier on site surged toward the exit at full speed.

Bang, bang, bang!

Bang, bang, bang, bang!

Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!

Bullets flew in a relentless torrent, tearing through the horde/With full-force firepower, they carved a path of empty ground through the packed zombies.

Hayley was placed in the center, protected by these soldiers.

Derek and Ethan flanked her on either side, guarding her, while the others who had eaten her “staff meal” acted as shields, making sure zombies stayed away and opening a clear path.

At this point, no one remembered that Hayley was actually incredibly powerful

C

To them, she was just the only non-military person in the group, unarmed and without visible gifts. She was simply a civilian who had once fed them, someone worth protecting.

Protecting civilians was a soldier’s duty

Even if times had changed, the spirit of a soldier could not be erased

Plus, this civilian had given them a meal

Without thinking, they instinctively surrounded her, making sure she could move forward safely

This completely threw Hayley off she had wanted to grab her AK and push through on her own, but now that she was surrounded, there was no way to charge forward

Still, her small Desert Eagle could get some use

Bang, bang, bang!

Chapter 123

Derek and Ethan forcefully cleared zombies from the sides, but the frorde was too dense to handle.

Meanwhile, Hayley stayedealin in the center. Using the soldiers around her as a protective wall, she picked off every stray zombie that tried to break through.”

With the combined protection and concentrated fire, they advanced toward the exit.

But soon…

“Countdown: 21 seconds!”

“Countdown: 20 seconds!”

Within ten seconds, all their bullets were gone. They had thrown away most of their firepower on B1, leaving them dangerously under-armed.
