The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 125

Chapter

Hayley saw Derek’s fireball vanish midair. A zombie lunged through the gap, its claws out.

There was no time to dodge

Bang!

Hayley yanked Derek back and kicked the zombie away.

Before the pale-faced Derek could even thank her, Ethan screamed on the other side as four zombies grabbed his legs. Caleb tried to pull him free, but got tackled as well.

One by one, the people around Hayley were falling, drained and surrounded. 1

“Boss! Run!” Derek shoved Hayley hard toward the exit and turned back to help his teammates. “This is as far as we can take you! Go!”

They had done all they could. From here on, anyone who could run should run.

Derek stayed behind to cover Hayley’s retreat.

Suddenly, several bolts of lightning exploded down from above, frying the zombies closing in on Derek’s team.

Liam stood in the middle of the chaos, his eyes now completely silver.

He looked straight at Hayley as electricity surged violently over his body.”

“Take as many as you can with you. I’ll hold them off!”

To Hayley’s shock, she saw his body erupt in radiant light. In addition to lightning, he unleashed a surge of ice and light energy

as well.

Hayley froze.

Wait. Could it be…? 1

“Go! Now!” Liam shouted.

Instantly, every zombie turned its attention to him and swarmed.

“Captain Caldwell!”

“Captain…!”
