Chapter 132
Since the apocalypse began, Curtis had seen all kinds of people. Normally, if someone wasn’t willing to cooperate, they wouldn’t accept their stuff.
But Hayley was different. She took what she wanted but said no to everything.
Curtis felt that this was an eye-opening experience
Facing the massive, imposing armored vehicle, he gritted his teeth and tried one last offer.
“If you help us get inside, we’ll take just 30% of the supplies. You keep 70%. How’s that?”
A faint laugh came from the vehicle.
Curtis felt completely unsettled. “Okay, fine. We take 20%. You get 80%.”
The response was silence. 1
“Fine! How about just 10%? We’ll help you. Just let us in! You can’t take all the supplies, anyway!”
A wisp of smoke drifted from the top of the vehicle as Hayley looked down at him from her height. “I said, you go in first. We’ll go after you’re done.”
Hayley didn’t need to share with anyone. Not even 10%.
Curtis heard her firm, commanding words and realized he had no leverage. He had no strength to negotiate.
He stared at the vehicle for a long moment, then reluctantly returned to his team.
As he approached, his small group quickly gathered around.
“How was it?”
“What kind of people are they?”
“Did you invite them to cooperate with us?”
Curtis glanced at the armored vehicle and waved his hand. “They won’t work with us.”
“Then what do we do now?”
Curtis looked at the massive livestock plant. “We go one last time.”
Five minutes later, Hayley watched from the vehicle as the group gave up and reluctantly left the farm. She waved her hand.
“Drive.”
With a roar, her armored vehicle shot forward into the livestock plant like an arrow. With absolute strength, all that they needed to do was plow through.
Two hundred yards away, Curtis and his team watched the vehicle powerfully breach the farm they had been trying to take torso long. Awe filled their eyes.
The strong, were always the ones everyone looked up to.
Curtis felt even worse inside. They didn’t need to cooperate with her she had what it took, and they weren’t worthy
Meanwhile, from the smashed doors, a few scattered zombies stumbled out Smelling humans, they lunged at Curtis and his team, snarling and snapping.
“Run!”
Chapter 122
“Retreat!”
They didn’t have Hayley’s strength. Facing more than three zombies, evasion was their only option. They bolted as fast as they
could.
Once inside, Hayley’s vehicle began releasing the dogs, clearing the remaining zombies.
Stepping out of the vehicle, she noticed a book lying on the ground, titled “Postpartum Care for Sows”.
She crouched to pick it up.
It was a good read worth keeping.
