Chapter 221
“How much is he selling then for?” Hayley asked Liam.
“One vial for one ton of food plusten winter coats,” he replied.
Hayley couldn’t hold back her shock.
Damn it, Alex had really gone too far this time.
No, the point was, Hayley wished she had charged way more!
This was an insane loss for her!
How could he dare charge something that outrageous?!
“Are you going to sell it to him?” Liam asked.
“Of course, I am!” Hayley snapped. “But it’s going to be a thousand crystal cores, and one of them has to be from a mental- variant mutant zombie. Otherwise, he’s not getting a single vial!”
Hayley was unbelievably annoyed. She could tolerate it when she wasn’t making money herself, but seeing someone she hated make a fortune was unbearable.
It made her want to lose it.
“I want you to spread the word,” Hayley added. “My evolution serum can be bought by every base, 20 crystal cores per dose. Except Hope Base. For them, it’s that special price.”
She wasn’t just going to squeeze Alex. She was going to crush him in a price war, too.
Watching him make money made her feel worse than anything.
There was no way she was letting this go. Not a chance!
Liam couldn’t help laughing when he heard her angry rant.
“Alright, I’ll make sure everyone knows. One more thing, though. I’m planning another multi-base operation. We’re going to raid a clothing mall. You in?”
“Who’s going?”
“I invited a lot of bases this time, but most of them turned it down,” Liam said honestly.
The temperature had dropped too quickly. Those small bases that went with them to collect food last time were no longer willing to go out again.
They already had food stored for winter, so they didn’t want to take the risk.
They could wait until spring.
On top of that, the clothing mall was far away, a huge distribution center in the outer suburbs. No one knew how dangerous if was out there.
“So far, only Shield Base agreed.”
Hayley jumped to her feet when she heard that name “Shield Base?!”
“Yeah. They’re closer to the target area, and they’re willing to go with us. If you’re not interested, I’ll just take thein along
“No, I’m interested,” Hayley said instantly “I’m going with you.”

Shield Base was the base Hayley had lived in during her last life.
Memories flooded her all at once.
Back then, she had ended up at Shield Base by accident. From the very first day, a group of Gifted had tried to take advantage of
her.
If Thomas hadn’t been there in the beginning to help her a few times, she never would have survived in that place.
Even after she gained some strength, those Gifted scum were still scheming against her. They tripped her up whenever they
could.
And that so-called “nice guy” of a base leader was the worst of them all. He was always playing mediator and always smiling, but he stabbed her in the back every chance he got.
When the zombies surrounded the base, he had used her as cannon fodder without blinking.
Hayley had fought those people at Shield Base for ten years in her last life.
She thought she would never see them again.
And now… Great. She had run straight into them again.
