The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 232

Chapter 232

Hayley’s strength had been boosted by the system so many times that she almost lost count

That slap she threw was no joke.

Wallace was sent flying more than 30 feet.

Before he could even catch his breath after hitting the ground, another store of slaps came down on him.

Smack! Smack! Smack!

Under Hayley’s crushing strength, Wallace wilted like a vegetable caught in a hurricane. After a few clean, brutal slaps, he was completely out of it.

His head buzzing, Wallace finally forced his swollen eyes open and met a pair of dangerously sharp eyes.

They looked wild and fierce, like a tiger staring at its prey.

Hayley grabbed him by the collar and put on a sweet smile. “Captain Goodwin, let me tell you something quietly.”

She leaned closer, casually wiping her hands on his clothes as she said gently, “Captain Caldwell isn’t backing me. I’m the one backing him. Got it?”

Wallace froze. His face, already swollen beyond recognition, looked even more ridiculous as shock filled his eyes.

Just then, three men came running over.

“Wallace! That lunatic, Thomas, beat us up!”

“Wallace! You have to do something about Thomas!”

“Wallace…”

They arrived just in time to see their boss being held up by his collar, his face puffed up like a balloon.

All three of them froze.

What just happened? Had they walked into the wrong place?

Seeing them, Hayley patted Wallace’s swollen face. “Did that get through your thick skull?”

Wallace nodded like his life depended on it.

Hayley tossed him aside and looked calmly at the three men.

Smack! Smack! Smack!

One slap each, and all three were sent flying.

After giving everyone a proper beating, Hayley felt refreshed from head to toe.

Thomas had the right idea. Nothing clears the mood like a few good old fashioned slaps.

It was freaking sausfying!

Besides, not a single one of them was innocent. They were all trash. If anything, they deserved worse.

Even if it all happened in a past life, as long as Hayley remembered it, they were still going to pay in this one.

One slap short would’ve been too kind. She had to hit them hard.

Hayley went back upstairs.

The night passed in uneasy sleep.

Some people slept just fine, while others didn’t sleep at all.

Early the next morning, Liam walked out and saw Wallace. His entire face was wrapped up, swollen like a melon.

“Captain Goodwin, what happened to you?”

Wallace glanced at Hayley behind Liam and muttered through gritted teeth, “I fell.”

“You don’t look like you fell,” Derek said bluntly. “You look like you got beaten up.”

Ethan nodded seriously. “No doubt about it. And whoever did it was vicious. They really made every strike count. It’s almost

cruel.”

“Who are you calling cruel?” Hayley snapped.

Ethan turned to her instantly. “Boss…”

“Shut up.”

Everyone went quiet.

Was it really Hayley?

The more they thought about it, the more it felt…likely.
