Chapter 231
“Damn it! You should feel tosky Teven looked at you! How dare you run! Run again and see what happens!”
A hard slap landed on the girl’s face. She instantly looked like a frightened little lamb, her eyes turning red. She opened her mouth to scream, but a hand clamped over it at ofice
The man shoved her into a corner and started yanking at her thin shirt.
Suddenly, his wrist was grabbed by a huge hand.
In the next second, he was lifted like a toy and thrown away with a heavy crash.
Everyone froze when they saw a towering man, well over six feet tall, covered in tattoos from his neck down, standing there like a storm about to break.
“Thomas!” another man cried out his name.
Smack!
Thomas slapped him across the face without a word.
“Are you crazy? How dare you hit me!”
Smack!
The angry guy clearly believed in one thing, and one thing only: slap first, talk later.
“Are you out of your mind? You’re dead!”
Smack, smack, smack!
Three more loud slaps landed in a row.
The man finally started begging, “I’m sorry! I was wrong! I was wrong!”
Hearing that, Thomas tossed him aside. He grabbed the first man again and gave the latter a few more hard slaps for good
measure.
Smack, smack, smack!
After dealing with two of them, Thomas looked around and walked straight toward the guy who had been leaning against the wall and watching the whole thing like a show.
Smack!
“What the hell! I didn’t even touch her!”
Smack!
The man didn’t dare say another word. He turned and ran
Standing in the doorway, Hayley let out a laugh before she could stop herself.
Hearing her, Thomas looked in her direction. He then glanced at the girl behind him
She stared at him in shock, backed away fast, and then ran off, as if she had just seen a monster
Thomas didn’t say a single word. He turned and walked away
As he passed by Hayley, she gave him a thumbs-up.
The tough-looking giant paused for half a second. Then he lifted his hand and gave her a thumbs up, too.

That was it. Nu words were exchanged.
Real recognition frever needed words.
Thomas walked past Hayley, who leaned against the door frame with her arms crossed as she watched his broad back disappear.
Not bad at all.
This trip to Shield Base was worth it. Looks like she had found herself another good recruit.
She turned around to leave and almost bumped into someone standing behind her.
“Captain Reid.”
Hayley looked up at the man in his early thirties. The smile he wore earlier was gone, replaced by a dark, tight expression.
She gave him a lazy look. “Oh, hey, Captain Goodwin. Can I help you?”
His face darkened even more. He stared at her with sharp eyes full of warning.
“Listen to me. Stop sticking your nose into my business. Don’t think I can’t touch you just because you’ve got Captain Caldwell’s backing. You’re just a woman. Sooner or later, he’ll get tired of you. You’d better start thinking about your future now. It’s always better to have one more friend than one more enemy. Right?”
