Chapter 288

Hayley sprinted straight to the two SUVS she had left behind. While running, she already had the keys out

Beep! Beep!

Both vehicles unlocked at the same time.

Only then did Hayley think of something. “Don’t tell me none of you can drive.”

Ned spoke up. “Oscar could!”

Hayley was speechless.

So that meant no one could!

“Get in!”

Hayley didn’t bother arguing. She stored one SUV into her inventory and shoved the three of them into the back seat of the other one. Then, she climbed into the driver’s seat before tossing Griffin into the passenger seat.

His hands and feet were still tied together. She threaded her arm through the gap between them and grabbed the steering wheel.

She kept a firm hold on him.

In that position, Griffin couldn’t buckle up and couldn’t even sit straight. He was stuck sideways.

“Just untie me. I won’t run.”

“Dream on.”

“You can drive like this?”

“Yup!”

Vroom!

Hayley started the engine. Locking up a man and driving at the same time was easy work for her.

She floored it straight toward the huge glass doors ahead.

Crash!

The SUV smashed through the glass and burst outside. At the same moment, fully zombified Lindsay cape charging out behind them, snarling nonstop.

Hayley slammed the gas pedal to the floor. With Griffin still tied up, the SUV shot down the road and quickly left the massive dealership far behind.

Through the rear window, the three in the back watched Lindsay in her school uniform grow smaller and smaller until she disappeared from view. No one spoke.

Out of their whole group, only the three of them survived.

Bradley kept turning back to stare out the window. Once Lindsay was completely gone, all the air seemed to have left his body. He lowered his head and didn’t say a word.

“Kid, do you really love your girlfriend that much?” Griffin asked lazily, glancing at the back seat.

Bradley stayed silent.

Cecilia answered instead. “Lindsay and Bradley grew up together. They’ve known each other since they were kids. They started

dating back in elementary school. They even promised to get married after graduating from college.”

Griffin lowered his head and laughed quietly.

“Elementary school, huh? What the hell do little kids know? Hah. His girlfriend turned into a zombie, but he wouldn’t leave her. And you think you’re the smart one?

Griffin turned his head. Light flickered in one eye as he stretched his neck closer to Hayley.

“If you turned into a zombie, I wouldn’t leave you either. Nd even catch live people every day to feed you.”

Hayley shot him a glare.

She made a sharp turn, dodging a group of zombies rushing in front of them, and at the same time, slammed Griffin sideways.

“Ow.” Griffin’s head smacked into the ceiling, and he sucked in a breath. He was about to say something when he heard Hayley speak again.

“Shut up.”

Not long after, the SUV headed toward Timberfall.

The moment they entered Timberfall territory, there were no zombies ahead. The road on both sides was completely empty.

Only the zombies chasing them remained.
