Chapter 307
“Raarh!”
“Raarh!”
“Raarh!”
The streets were packed with zombies, shoulder to shoulder, drifting aimlessly in endless clusters.
Wounds and rotting flesh from the long winter had split open again, with pus oozing out. Guts and decayed meat leaked yellowish sludge. In the scorching May heat, pushing past 100°F, clouds of buzzing flies swarged over the streets, circling the zombies in thick waves.
A car crossed the overpass ahead. The zombies immediately locked onto its direction, lifting their barely recognizable faces. Gray-white skin clung tight to bare bones, so thin that there wasn’t a trace of flesh left. A whole slab of scalp had been torn from the hairline down to the bridge of the nose, exposing dark red muscle in uneven layers. Brow bones and nasal bones were completely visible.
That ‘horrifying zombie stared up at the vehicle racing overhead.
Of course, it wasn’t the only one watching.
Thousands of zombies across the street all tilted their heads upward, their eyes fixed on the moving car.
As if they were staring at a giant drumstick.
Whoosh!
The armored vehicle sped past, and the zombies below instantly went into frenzy mode.
They sprinted wildly beneath the overpass, chasing in the direction Hayley’s vehicle had gone.
Thick black clouds of flies surged along with them like ocean waves, swarming forward in pursuit, all converging on that single
car.
Inside the vehicle, Hayley watched the massive sea of zombies below. Thankfully, this stretch of elevated road was straight, and the surface streets beneath didn’t run parallel the whole way.
Once the zombies hit the end of the road and were blocked by rows of apartment buildings, the swarm gradually scattered.
The armored vehicle kept speeding forward and soon completely shook off the zombie tide below.
However, Hayley’s expression only grew heavier.
“The situation in other cities is way worse than we thought,” Liam said. “At this rate, Brookville and Cresttord won’t hold. The zombie hordes will definitely expand outward and swallow up other bases.”
Hayley nodded. “We need to speed things up and take all of Aecraton as soon as possible.”
“Yeah.”
They drove at full speed for an entire day. By early evening, they were finally nearing the mountains.
Zombies, were noticeably fewer in this area.
Just as they were wondering why, they suddenly saw a massive cluster of zombies ahead.
Every zombie within several hundred yards of the road was converging toward an intersection about half a mile away. They were packed tight, acting completely unhinged.

“What the hell is going on?” someone muttered.
At the center of the zomble tide…
Nine people were surrounded on all sides, pushed back step by step into a dead end. There were six men and three women.
They formed a tight circle, fighting desperately against the relentless waves of zombies crashing toward them.
“Raarh!”
A white-haired elderly zombie was the fastest. It lunged with its mouth wide open at the nearest tall, skinny man. At that moment, he grabbed the girl beside him and shoved her forward to block the zombie.
“Ah!”
