Alex nodded seriously.

“You only have the southern and eastern districts left, but those two districts cover half of Aecraton’s total area and half its population. No matter which side you attack, the other one will spiral out of control. I’ve run the numbers. Instead of pushing slowly, you should use heavy firepower and bomb them.

“I suggest splitting into five squads, no more than ten people per squad. Send them separately to Downtown Medical Center, Central High School, Golden Way Mall, the Municipal Water Plant, and the Grand Trade Tower.

“Plant explosives at all five locations and detonate them at the same time. Break the two districts apart, then clear them piece by piece ”

Alex sent the data report to everyone.

Hayley and the others reviewed it carefully, then gathered to discuss.

Half an hour later, everyone agreed with Alex’s plan.

“Then let’s form the teams,” Hayley said.

She split them into five squads.

One squad was led by her, one by Liam, one by Milo, one by Malcolm and Scarlett, leading members from six smaller bases, and one by Jim.

Jim had performed exceptionally well recently and had become one of their heavy hitters, leading fighters from four smaller bases.

Once the teams were set, they drew lots.

“We’ll draw lots for the location.”

Hayley wrote the five destinations on slips of paper.

After everyone finished drawing, she picked up the last one.

“I got the high school,” Milo said, holding up his slip.

“I’ve got Golden Way Mall,” Liam said.

“I’m heading to the Grand Trade Tower,” Malcolm said.

“I got the Municipal Water Plant,” fim said.

Hayley didn’t even need to look at the last slip

“I’m going to the hospital.”

Out of all the locations, the hospital was the most dangerous.

Bradley was one of the three students Hayley had rescued from the pharmacy before. After being brought back, all three had chosen to join the league.

Cecilia had no gifts and was a girl, so she was assigned to base support work. Her boyfriend, Ned, went with her.

Only Bradley stayed on the combat side.

Even without gifts, he fought zombies with fierce determination. He always charged at the front and spent his downtime learning from the special forces veterans.
