The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 337

Chapter 337

The woman sprinted toward the corner afiead.`

That corridor connected directly to the inpatient building behind it. They could reach straight through the passage in front of them

Hayley watched the woman run off, but didn’t move an inch.

Instead, Griffin stopped and walked back toward her.

“There’s something wrong with her. Even a doctor should know who Florence Nightingale is,” Griffin said

Florence Nightingale was the world’s first modern nurse. Calling someone “Ms. Nightingale” was a cofemon way to praise a hardworking, kind nurse.

Hayley nodded.

“But she’s definitely human,” Hayley replied.

“Yeah. Human.” Griffin nodded.

Whether someone was alive or undead, Griffin could tell instantly.

Just then, the woman who had run off suddenly rushed back, crying out in panic.

“Oh, no! There are demons banging on my children’s room! Please, I’m begging you, save them!”

Hayley and Griffin immediately moved forward.

When they reached the corner, they saw several zombies in the hallway ahead, moving in twisted, unnatural ways.

Those zombies were pounding hard on a door. They wore blue-and-white striped hospital gowns, slamming their fists again and again, making the door shake violently. It looked like the door would break open any second, and they would rush in to tear apart whoever was inside.

Faintly, Hayley thought she heard children crying.

She sped up.

The zombies pounding on the door sensed her presence and immediately turned around, snapping their heads toward her like feral beasts.

They twisted their bodies and charged straight at Hayley at full speed, howling wildly.

“Raarh!”

“Raarh!”

“Raarh!”

The hallway lighting was extremely dim, making the rushing zombies look even more terrifying.

Just as they were about to reach Hayley, a powerful column of water slammed down with a heavy thud, stopping them in theat

tracks.

Right after that, a saber sliced through the mist like silk. One clean swing, and every adult zombie was decapitated

In just a few seconds, they were all dead.

After finishing them off, Hayley could clearly feel it. So far, the most dangerous thing in this hospital was sub that choda –

These adult zumbies had barely evolved at all

Once the motisters were dealt with, the woman walked over in delight. This time, her afte treat t changed. She beamed at Hayley.

“You’re amazing!”

The moment her words left her mouth, a saber was pressed against her ir-roat

“Who are you, really?”

Cold killing intent filled Hayley’s eyes.

She was cautious and meticulous by nature. There was no way she would ignore such a massive strange woman keep leading them around.

Now that the zombies were gone, Hayley put her blade to the woman’s neck and demanded answers

The woman showed no fear at all. Instead, she looked curious.

“Oooh, this looks fun! Let me play with it, too.”
