Chapter 340
The woman clearly understood what Griffin saiti. She immediately turned and rushed to her small cart, hugging the remaining
children tightly.
“Take them! Hurry, take them all away!”
Griffin walked up to Hayley. “I’m back.”
When Hayley heard those words, a smile flashed across her face. “Well done!”
“No reward?”
“You want a reward before the job’s finished? Finish the job first.”
Griffin lowered his head and smiled, then turned back to strap on the next child.
“How was it when you went back just now?” Hayley asked.
“There were a lot of zombies outside. A few caught the scent and lunged at me. I had to run,” Griffin said.
“Good. Keep your stamina up. Run a few more trips. I’ve got faith in you, kid,” Hayley encouraged him.
Griffin narrowed his eyes.
The second child was securely strapped to his chest. Griffin pulled out a large cooking pot and covered the child with it, then turned and headed downstairs again.
After Griffin left this time, the woman looked completely lost. Watching him disappear, she began counting the children left in her cart like counting baby chicks.
“One, two, three. Why are there only three left? One, two, three… Hey!”
The woman suddenly looked at Hayley.
“Dr. Corbyn, there are only three left! What do we do? I lost two of my kids! I need to go find them!”
Hayley sighed. “You counted wrong. Count again. There are five.”
The woman immediately turned and counted again.
“One, two, three…four, five!”
After counting again, she looked at Hayley in excitement.
“Dr. Corbyn, you’re right! My kids aren’t missing! Not a single one is gone!”
Hayley was exasperated.
Minutes later, Griffin returned again and took another child with him.
The woman now had only two children left and kept counting them back and forth.
Hayley kept telling her there were five. With Hayley so confident, the woman didn’t doubt it at all. She simply thought she was bad at counting, and she repeatedly counted two children as five.
“One, two, three, four… five! Dr. Corbyn, I didn’t count wrong,” the woman said after finishing, then pushed the cart with the two children over and sat beside Hayley. “Can I be discharged now?”
“Yes. Once the others come back, you’ll be discharged and leave with us.”
With only two children left, they didn’t need many more trips. Hayley planned to have Griffin take one, and she’d take one

herself, with the woman tagging alotrg. They could break out together.
After all, she didn’t have much time left.
