Chapter 355
Surviving the apocalypse was like taking an exam.
For an ordinary base, the moment you chose your location and started building, your future score w already being decided.
If you picked a bad location and add weak leadership, you would die fast.
Someone like Hayley, who chose an uninhabited area from the start, had the most textbook answer possible.
That was why, up to now, Hayley’s base had never faced a zombie tide or large-scale, targeted human attacks.
Location points matter more than anything. Base K1 and Firebrand Base were both built in remote areas
Almost 100% of bases that survived did so because they were well located.
That was why Scott was considered disadvantaged from birth. His base sat right in the city center.
That location was like having half his exam papers ripped away.
The reason he still had a few answers provided was that his location was practically a cheat zone. He could acquire massive amounts of supplies with ease, at far lower difficulty than anyone else.
However, every resource he gained now would turn into double the suffering he would have to face later.
Hayley had analyzed the fate of Tomorrow Base in her previous life.
In the end, she could only say one thing: Every gift from fate comes with a price tag attached.
It was doomed to be short-lived.
“Scott’s doing pretty well,” Milo said, clearly impressed as he studied the model.
Liam agreed. “Breaking out from the city center and pulling off a comeback like that really shows he’s
strong.”
While they were praising him, Hayley said calmly, “He won’t last five years. They’re surviving right now because of their own ability and the environment, but their luck is limited. Once zombies fully evolve and they still haven’t broken out of the city, they’ll be trapped inside. At best, they’ll last five years.”
When Hayley finished speaking, Alex looked at her differently. He stared at her in shock.
Her conclusion matched exactly what his computer had calculated.
He couldn’t help but admire how terrifyingly smart Hayley was. Her brain was almost keeping pace with his supercomputer.
Was she some kind of prophet?
Captain Reid, can I come by more often in the future?” Alex asked, eyes practically glowing
Hayley turned to him, confused. “What are you trying to do?”
I really want to talk with you more. Every time I hear you analyze things, I learn a lot.”
He might as well be wearing a sign calling Hayley his idol and a prophet.
Hayley rolled her eyes.
“Enough, enough. Stop being weird and get to the point, Milo said, clearly put off.
“Captain Reid’s analysis is spot-on,’ Alex continued. “Our supercomputer ran overnight simulations and reached the same conclusion. At the current pace, Scott expands fast in the first two years, but after the third year, it’s all downhill. He won’t last more than five.”
After Alex said that, both Liam and Milo turned to look at Hayley.
They gave her a thumbs-up.
