The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 391

Chapter 391

Wide asphalt roads stretched ahead, lined with tall hotel buildings on both sides.

These were resort hotels built to match the nearby amusement park. Just one more turn, and you would reach Fairytale Park Station. Guests staying here could even look out over the entire park.

Because of that, these resort hotels were always packed.

The zombie outbreak had happened during summer vacation, right at peak season.

Now, inside the hotels, huge numbers of zombies wandered through the empty buildings.

The hotels had been abandoned for 18 months. Dried black blood was everywhere, splattered, smeared, dragged or dripping long ago. It coated the walls, floor tiles, elevators, hallways, room doors, the front desk counters

Every corner of the hotel was stained.

The front desk computers were smashed, phones were torn off their cords, and decorative plants had withered. A front desk clerk zombie with its throat torn open was trapped behind the counter, its head tilted at an odd angle as it stiffly stared at anything that moved nearby.

There wasn’t a single living person here.

Only hungry zombies.

Zombies filled the lobby. Zombies filled the hallways. Zombies filled the guest rooms.

There was only one thought left in their rotting minds: They were hungry.

The explosions had drawn their attention, but sadly for them, they couldn’t open doors. They smashed against the nearest doors and windows, pounding on the glass that blocked them. When the explosions stopped, they gradually quieted down.

Until they heard something even more irresistible.

Raarh, raarh, raarh!

Human voices. The scent of food!

So damn hungry!

Raarh, raarh, raarh!

Raarh, raarh, raarh!

The extreme hunger drove them mad again. They slammed into anything that stood in their way.

Bang!

Thud!

The doors and windows, already on the verge of collapse, finally gave in under the zombiesfrenzied battering.

Crash!

As Hayley led everyone in a full sprint, she heard glass shattering nearby.

She turned her head and saw a hotel about 100 yards away. Its glass windows and doors had shattered, and the

newly freed zombie horde poured out like a flood.

On both sides, zombies howled without end. The hotel across the street also burst open, with zombies spilling out from there as well.

All of them stretched out their arms, took huge strides, and charged forward with pale, dead faces twisted in wild

excitement.

Everyone, stay alert! Run!Hayley shouted from the back of the formation.

The team surged forward at full speed. Within just a couple of seconds, the first wave of zombies had already reached them.

Derek and the others on the outer perimeter drew their weapons and began cutting down zombies from both sides

In an instant, blades flashed, and various gifts erupted into action.

Hayley expanded her air barrier to its maximum, forcing a path through the massive zombie horde closing in from both sides.

Just one more turn!
