Chapter 410
Scott’s excuse was airtight.
The few women scattered through the group all had gifts. None of them was easy to deal with.
“After you get out, remember to meet up with our people. Make sure they behave and listen to Haylight League. If they don’t, report it to me,” Scott said.
“Got it, Boss!” Sawyer and the others answered.
Seeing this, Hayley knew Scott was clearly wary of her.
He wanted to see whether they really flew back to Aecraton, and wanted them to report outside intelligence back to him.
This man was a tough nut to crack.
Hayley watched as they boarded the helicopter. When the last one, Sawyer, was about to get on, she said, “My helicopter has a weight limit. You’re overloaded. One of you has to get off.”
Sawyer froze.
Hayley grabbed Sawyer and pulled him down.
Scott frowned. Leonard, sitting in the pilot’s seat, spoke up at the right moment.
“The three of them are exactly at the limit. One more, and we can’t take off.”
Hearing this, Scott finally said, “Fine.”
“Boss, I…”
“Wait for the next trip.”
Scott looked at Hayley. His gaze was still gentle.
Hayley smiled back at him and turned to leave. After she walked away, Sawyer stepped forward.
“Boss, I think she doesn’t want to help us at all. She’s playing games on purpose. I suspect she’ll tell her people not to come
tomorrow!”
Scott laughed softly. “Doesn’t matter. She’s here. If she wants to stall, she’s stuck here with me.”
“And her subordinate?”
Scott’s gaze slowly settled on Griffin, murderous intent creeping into his eyes. “It the helicopter doesn’t come tomorrow, gei mut
of him.”
“Alright!”
Just then, a shout suddenly rose from the group.
“Zombies! The zombies are here!”
Hayley had been walking toward the center of the camp, already planning to tell the helicopter not to come tomorrow and stall for a couple of days, when she heard the alarm
She followed the sound and saw a large group of humanoid figures rushing out of the forest ahead
There were over 100 of them at a glance. Men and women, young and old Some had their heads twisted at odd angles, some limped, some ran on all fours. Like a marathon pack, they surged in from the west

“Raarh!”

Hayley guessed that the helicopter flying back and forth these past few days had drawn them in. The massive noise must have attracted the zombies on the outskirts, guiding them step by step toward the group in the center.
The fastest one was a young male zombie wearing a white tank top and running shorts, with a close-cropped haircut. He looked like he had been an athlete before he died.
The muscles on his body still held their shape. When he ran, he moved with explosive force. There was a wound on his shoulder, stretching down to his forearm, a chunk of flesh torn away to the bone, yet it didn’t affect his arm swing at all.
He was a professional athlete zombie. In just a few seconds, he pulled far ahead of the zombie pack behind him and charged straight at them.
“Raarh!”
The athlete zombie’s pale face twisted as it opened its bloody mouth and lunged at the nearest man.
