Chapter 413

After happily pocketing 100 thousand crystal cores, Hayley felt comfortable from the bottom of her heart to the tips of her toes. Being able to squeeze Scott like this wasn’t something just anyone could pull off.

He could only blame himself for manipulating people and playing the noble leader. Now, he had to pay the price.

She lifted the bags of crystal cores one by one and pretended to hand them to Griffin. The moment his hand touched them, everything vanished straight into Hayley’s inventory.

Scott naturally noticed nothing.

“In that case, I’ll go send the message now,” Hayley said after collecting the crystal core’s

“Alright,” Scott replied with a smile.

Hayley turned and left with Griffin.

The instant they turned away, Scott’s expression darkened.

Sawyer stepped forward. “Boss, that was all our crystal cores. We gave every last one of them away!”

Scott stared at Griffin’s back beside Hayley. “He won’t live long enough to keep my crystal cores. No matter what, kill him tomorrow.”

“Won’t that turn her against us?”

Scott turned around, eyes full of malice. “If we kill him ourselves, yes, she’ll turn on us. But if zombies kill him, then there’s no reason to fall out. Understand?”

Sawyer thought it over. “Got it.”

“Stage an accident and lure the zombies over. Leave no traces. Get me my crystal cores back.”

“You got it, Boss!”

Hayley sent a radio message outside, telling Leonard to come pick them up as usual tomorrow.

After the message was sent, Hayley heard a rustling sound not far away.

“Who’s there?”

From behind the trees, a man in his early 30s poked his head out. He glanced around nervously, confirmed no one was paying attention, then stepped out.

He brought along a teenage boy, around 16.

The man looked at Hayley. “I-I’ve got intel. Scott wants to deal with you.”

Hayley blinked.

“You took his crystal cores. He won’t let you off,” the man continued.

The teenage boy stood watch nearby.

“What do you want?” Hayley asked.

“A trade,” the man said, staring intensely at Hayley. “I’ll tell you Scott’s

Just then, the boy hurriedly whispered, “Dad, someone’s coming!”

plan. You take my son and me out of here.

Hearing that, the man clenched his teeth and tossed a crumpled paper ball over. This eyes were full of desperation as he looked at

Hayley one last time. Then he turned, grabbed his son, and left in the opposite direction.

It was as if he had never been there.

Hayley looked at the paper ball on the ground. “Pick it up.”

Griffin walked over and retrieved it.

Hayley unfolded the paper. There was a single line written on it. She snorted and laughed.

“What’s so funny?”

“Read it yourself.”

Hayley handed the note to Griffin.

He saw the single line.

“He plans to lure a zombie tide to kill

your subordinate.”

Griffin fell silent.
