Chapter 466
The young female zombie hadn’t been dead for long.
The moment she opened her mouth, thick, bright red blood spilled down in heavy drops.
She had just let out a sound when a blade came flying in and penetrated straight into her skull through the temple. Shing!
The sound of steel scraping crystal rang out. As the long blade was pulled free, a crystal core came with it, and the young zombie went completely still.
Derek drew the blade back and looked at Liam in silence.
Liam gave him a brief nod.
Derek grabbed the now lifeless zombie and laid her on the ground.
What stretched out before them was an underground layout shaped like a hexagon grid. Every corridor was lined with rooms where people could live.
Zombies were everywhere, but most of them were clustered in the wide central plaza of the grid.
The structure had eight downward exits in total. They were currently on the southern side and needed to reach the west.
Fortunately, they only had to stick to the outer ring.
Seeing that there weren’t many zombies along the perimeter, they decided to move fast and push through.
Derek and the others hugged the edge and surged forward at full speed.
There weren’t many zombies on the outside.
After two years of killing zombies, people like them handled it effortlessly and reached the western side without
trouble.
Behind them, Gideon, Stephen, and the others were completely stunned by what they had just seen.
This was insane!
They had seen base guards go out to clear zombies before. Every time, it was loud and dramatic, loaded with heavy weapons, layers of protection, and overwhelming firepower.
They never fought zombies up close. Most of the time, it was bunker defense, using terrain to slowly wipe out incoming waves.
Gideon and the rest had never seen anything like this.
Cold weapons. Close combat. And they did it in complete silence.
These people were terrifyingly strong.
Just then, a zombie slipped through from behind them.
It wore old-fashioned men’s clothes and had a skinny frame. It had been a cleaner inside the base. The elderly zombie lunged forward, jaws wide, several yellowed teeth falling out as it snarled and rushed at the woman walking at the very back.

At that critical moment, a man grabbed a broken chair leg and swung it hard at the zombie’s face.
Bang!
The half-length chair leg smashed the zombie’s nose flat and jammed straight into its mouth, wedged betweer, its remaining teeth.
Taking advantage of the opening, Gideon yanked the woman forward and ran.
Everyone else surged ahead in a panic.
