Chapter 555
Bang!
Hayley kicked the metal door clean off its frame.
Force solved most problems.
A lock might stop zombies, but it wasn’t stopping her.
She stepped out onto the rooftop where she had just seen people.
Strangely, it was empty. There wasn’t a soul in sight.
As Hayley scanned for where they could’ve gone, a loud clang echoed from her harvester below.
She rushed to the edge and looked down. Four teenagers had gathered around her truck; two boys were smash at it with metal chairs.
“Hey! Knock it off!” Hayley shouted from the rooftop.
They glanced up at her, then kept swinging.
One girl held up a strip of cloth with words painted across it. “Leave now, or we’ll turn your truck into scrap!” Hayley felt heat surge up her spine.
P
Unbelievable. They were picking a fight on purpose!
She grabbed Griffin and spun toward the stairwell, ready to go down and settle it.
That was when the school bell rang. The sharp chime cut through the air.
Why was the bell ringing?
The teenagers below froze as if they had just heard something straight out of a nightmare. They dropped everything and bolted for the classroom building behind them.
Hayley followed their path with her eyes. They were heading toward the building where she was standing.
Then, she saw it.
From every surrounding structure, zombies began pouring out. They streamed down stairwells and through doorways like ants flooding from a disturbed nest.
All of them were headed in one direction:
The classroom building
In the midst of her confusion, Hayley suddenly felt a powerful wave of zombie energy rolling through the campus.
“Captain Gorgeous,” Griffin said quietly beside her, his expression hardening. “There’s a Zombie King here. It’s level 4 or higher ”
Hayley’s gaze locked onto the swarm below The lower level zombies gathered like worshippers circling something unseen.
Never had she felt any hing like this before
Chapter 555
+1!
So this was the power of a level 4 zombie.
Excitement flickered through her chest. She focused, reaching out with her perception, trying to pinpoint/it. However, the pressure vanished just as suddenly as it appeared.
Huh? Was it gone?
She blinked.
Still, the zombies below hadn’t moved an inch. They remained clustered tightly around the classroom buildin
Her brows drew together.
“We’re going down.”
She grabbed Griffin and headed for the stairs.
Bringing Griffin had its perks. If she had been with Leonard and the others, she might’ve considered pulling ba at something like this.
