Chapter 574

Right as the room fell into awkward silence, a clear voice cut through it.

“I’ll go with you.”

Hayley stepped forward.

Marvin looked at her.

She was already walking toward the door, smiling faintly. “Well? Let’s move.”

Trina’s pretty face tightened immediately when she saw who had volunteered.

“I don’t wanna go with you,” she said sharply.

“Then we all go,” Marvin decided.

He had thought it through fast.

If they were going to follow Hayley and leave this place, they couldn’t hide in classrooms forever. And if Hayley was willing to walk point, that was as safe as it was going to get.

The restroom was right next door, anyway.

Marvin gave her a small nod.

Everyone stood up and braced themselves.

Hayley opened the door. The hinges gave a soft creak.

The hallway was still, not a zombie in sight.

Hayley stepped into the center, scanned both ends, then gave a subtle nod back. The group shuffled out behind her, shoulders hunched, sticking close together.

The moment they stepped into the corridor, she sensed the restless movement of zombies in the hallway.

Yeah. These people were definitely attractive bait.

Hayley led them slowly toward the restroom.

“Raarh!”

A zombie in a school uniform burst out from inside the bathroom,

Its bangs hung stiffly across its forehead. There wasn’t a single patch of intact skin left on its body. Its blouse had fused into the wounds where old blood and fabric had dried together into one mess of fiber and flesh.

Its face was worse; chewed through in places, with teeth marks rimming the holes in its cheeks and jaw

“Raarh!”

The zombie opened its horrifying, blood filled mouth and lunged at the person rushing in front of it, snapping down in a vicious bite.

Shing!

Hayley’s blade came down in a single strike. As she pulled the saber free, a crystal core dropped out.

One zombie per second.

The teenagers following behind watched Hayley move with effortless precision, their eyes shining even brighten at how cool she looked.

They followed her instinctively, staying right on her heels.

Hayley headed toward the women’s restroom.

The smell hit hard.

Hayley stood watch outside. After confirming with her mental perception that there were no zombies nearby, she gave the others a look, signaling them to go in themselves.

Marvin and the others stayed by the entrance while Trina and the other girl went inside to use the restroom.

The bathroom was filthy.
