Chapter 597
Hayley sneered inwardly.
Planning to circle back?
Who the hell did they think they were, flying in and leaving whenever they wanted?
Hayley lifted the launcher and locked onto the approaching helicopter, aiming directly at the point where it would turn around.
Apparently, the people inside noticed her movement.
The helicopter abruptly changed direction mid-turn. The moment it shifted, however, Hayley adjusted her aim
with it.
“Mr. Delgado, we’ve been spotted,” Dean said nervously.
Whoever was down there had terrifying combat instincts. The launcher tracked their next movement before they even finished it.
“Land immediately!”
After Hayley adjusted her aim twice, the helicopter above suddenly stopped advancing. Instead, it began descending in a straight line toward the inside of the steel wall.
Now they wanted to land?
Not happening. Who said they were allowed to park in her territory?
Go and land with the zombies instead!
Boom!
Hayley fired, and the missile slammed straight into the helicopter’s tail.
Everyone onboard was shocked.
The damaged helicopter lurched violently, spinning out of control. Its landing trajectory shifted instantly, sending it crashing toward the zombie horde outside the wall.
In an emergency evacuation, more than a dozen people jumped out with parachutes.
A thunderous explosion followed as the helicopter crashed into the mass of zombies below.
The parachuting survivors landed atop the steel wall.
One unlucky man drifted off balance and fell beyond the wall into the zombie swarm. He disappeared beneath grasping hands almost instantly.
The remaining survivors’ expressions turned cold. Before they could react further, dozens of rifles were already
aimed at their heads.
“We’re from Ark One! Don’t shoot!” Constant shouted immediately.
The armed guards rushed forward, surrounding a man in a white uniform protectively.
“Ark One?”

A clear voice rang out.
Hayley walked over, with Milo and several others behind her. The crowd parted, and her eyes landed directly on Nathaniel standing at the center.
Nathaniel looked back at her, his gaze complicated, emotions flickering through his eyes.
“Well, if it isn’t Nate,” Hayley said lightly.
“Hi, Holly,” Nathaniel replied..
“What brings you here?”
“I came to…”
He stopped himself.
What had he come for?
He had come to take Hayley away. He had even brought more than a dozen of Ark One’s strongest Gifted guards.
Originally, he believed that was more than enough. Even if her people resisted, they could still forcefully take her and destroy the base if necessary.
But now…
“I came to see you.”
Nathaniel changed his answer.
