Chapter 601
Everyone fell silent, completely unsure how to respond.
“So… When can we go back?” someone finally asked.
“You can leave whenever you want,” Hayley said calmly.
“Then we want to leave tomorrow.”
“Nope.”
The group exchanged blank looks again, caught between confusion and disbelief.
“Then we’ll stay here a few more days. Honestly, I like this place. You should show us around properly,” Nathaniel finally said.
“Sure,” Hayley said.
Under Hayley’s “enthusiastic hospitality”, Nathaniel’s group decided to remain for the time being.
Hayley handed Nathaniel a communicator so he could send a message back to his people, letting them know he would be staying longer.
With the return date settled, everyone shared dinner in relative peace.
Throughout the meal, Nathaniel kept talking with Hayley, mostly about the food, supplies, and daily life in the base.
Hayley answered casually, while everyone else kept their heads down, barely daring to speak.
After dinner, Nathaniel smiled at her. “By the way, I still haven’t met your base director. Who runs this place?”
Hayley shrugged lightly. “She’s busy. I’ll introduce you once she’s free.”
Nathaniel nodded. “Alright.”
When dinner ended, Hayley sent the group back to the villa.
Security surrounded the place inside and out. Multiple layers of guards ensured they couldn’t leave.
For the next few days, Hayley stayed next door at Liam’s house instead.
“Well?” Liam asked.
“They’ve cooled down for now. I’ll let them leave once they’re ready to talk terms.”
Liam nodded.
Just then, Samuel stepped out. “Holly.”
“Hey, Sam.”
“So Nathaniel’s group really caine?”
“Yeah.” Hayley briefly explained the situation
In truth, nothing had been negotiated yet Nathaniel’s people wanted to leave without offering anything in return, which wasich happening
At the same time, Hayley wouldn’t be the first to propose conditions
Today’s display was meant to make one thing clear If they wanted freedom, they would have to negattate
First question: Would Ark One treat her league as an ally or an enemy?

If an enemy, she would eliminate them without hesitation.
If an alliance, then the terms would depend on what they offered.
Either way, Nathaniel had to speak first.
Hayley held the advantage. They were the ones who needed to ask. If they didn’t, they could stay here indefinitely.
That night, Nathaniel requested to take a walk outside with Hayley. She agreed and reet them at the entrance.
Only Constant and Dean were allowed to accompany him, both still sporting swollen faces. The rest of the guards stayed behind.
Nathaniel didn’t object and followed Hayley out.
Once they left the villa district, a lively night market street opened before them.
Once again, Nathaniel’s group froze in shock.
A night market. There was actually a night market here!
Residents strolled through the streets. Small vendors ran food stalls and shops. Laughter drifted through the air.
