The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 604

Chapter 604

Nathaniel truly wanted to marry Hayley.

The more he learned about her, the stronger that desire became.

At first, he had just been fascinated by her. She always seemed to have another hidden card, another surprise waiting behind her

smile.

Now, he was equally captivated by her base.

Base Ki was powerful; powerful enough that Ark One absolutely needed a connection to it.

He still didn’t know who the actual director of Base K1 was, but it had to be someone tied to the Caldwells. Whoever ran this place clearly held serious influence, and Hayley had to be part of the upper leadership.

Marrying her meant gaining both the person and the power behind her. It was a win multiplied ten times over.

Nathaniel couldn’t find a single downside.

Well, except for one thing.

Hayley claimed she was pregnant. Given her current strength, forcing her to end the pregnancy wasn’t an option.

Fine. Then he would just become the father.

Compared to everything he stood to gain, accepting ready-made children and becoming a cuck hardly mattered.

Hayley listened to Nathaniel’s proposal, took a deep breath, and delivered a loud, crystal-clear response.

“Get the hell out.”

She rejected him again. Completely.

Just in case his brain failed to understand subtlety, she spelled it out plainly. She had zero feelings for him, and she would never marry him, not in this life. He needed to stay as far away from her as possible and stop bothering her

She even rejected the 2,000 workers she desperately wanted.

Hayley might need manpower, but she had standards. Some idiots didn’t deserve even the smallest opening

When she rejected someone, she made sure it was loud, clear, and impossible to misunderstand.

Preferably followed by distance. Lots of distance.

Nathaniel said nothing after being shut down so thoroughly. He watched her storm off, then slowly sanded

“Mr. Delgado… After what she said, maybe we should just

“No,” Nathaniel replied calmly “Nextime I confess, I’ll definitely win her over”

The other two stared at him, completely at a loss

Nathaniel believed Hayley was the guarded type. Her fierce rejection only proved she was protecting herself

That meant he was getting closer to success. He was confident that persistence would win her heart eventually

The next day, helicopters began flying back and forth toward Hayley’s base

This time, they had official thight clearance

One Ark One aircraft after another arrived

Each carried groups of lower -tier residents. For three straight days, transports continued until all 2,000 workers had been delivered.

Only then did Hayley release Nathaniel’s group.

“You’re free to go,” she said after confirming the headcount, waving them off.

Nathaniel smiled at her. “See you again soon.”

“Whatever. Go already.”

“Holly, we can still be friends, right?”

Hayley blinked at him, utterly speechless.

“In a while, the three Ark bases will hold a joint summit,” Nathaniel continued. “I’d like to invite Base K1. You qualify now.”

“Not interested.”
