Chapter 730
Hayley strode straight in.
Alex watched her back, something flickering in his usually cold eyes. He wanted to call out, tell her to stop, force himself to step up and say he would go instead.
And yet, the words wouldn’t come.
He just couldn’t be like her. He couldn’t charge forward without hesitation, couldn’t face danger head-on like it was nothing.
The stronger the challenge, the harder she pushed.
He wasn’t like that.
He had always been cautious.
Back when they first started taking back the city, he had stood off to the side and watched. Only when they were actually close to winning did he dare to join.
Even then, he kept to the back, never stepping into the front lines.
He had grown up comfortable and was used to safety. He valued his life. He was smart and careful, the kind of person everyone called exceptional.
Before he met Hayley, he had believed that, too.
After meeting her, he understood what it really meant to stand out.
Every bold move she made sent his heart jumping. What amazed him more was that she always won.
That wasn’t luck; it was strength.
She had the power to back it up. That was why she could keep breaking limits, doing things he wouldn’t even dare imagine.
Hayley only moved when she knew she could win.
And the things she did were the kind he wouldn’t even dare think about.
“Hayley, I…” The rest of the words died in his throat.
He watched her walk in, then quickened his pace and followed.
The moment Hayley stepped inside, she said, “We accept. We’ll provide you with our best people.”
Everyone turned to look at her. “And what’s your role in Haylight League, exactly?”
“You can think of me as…the district administrator,” Hayley said casually.
Their league wasn’t that big, less than 100 thousand. Before everything fell apart, managing that many

people would’ve been like running a district.
“What you said earlier made sense. I completely agree,” she continued, walking up to them. “Humanity should be led by people with vision like yours. We should end the zombie virus and open a new world.”
She stopped in front of them.
“I’m the strongest in the Haylight League.”
The room fell quiet as everyone exchanged looks.
Finally, the man at the front spoke. “You’re the strongest in your base?”
“That’s right. If you don’t believe me, test it.”
She needed to hook them.
The man gestured, and an A-level staff member quickly wheeled in a machine.
“Our standards are strict,” he said coldly. “At minimum, you need more than three abilities to qualify as top-tier. Speed and strength enhancements together only count as one. This device will test your…”
Before he could finish, Hayley stepped onto it, gripping the handles with familiar ease.
The next second, light exploded upward.
White, red, yellow, blue, green, purple…
At least eight different gifts.
The room went still.
This was exactly the kind of top-tier human they had been searching for.
