Chapter 752
It wasn’t just Celia.
Everyone else chewing on the old Hearthfall cakes was struggling, too.
The stuff was so hard that it could’ve doubled as a weapon. Smack it against a table, and it would leave
dents.
After a few minutes, they finally figured out how to eat it.
Soak it first.
Each person found something to hold water, and a water-element Gifted generated some. They waited for the cakes to soften before trying again.
Out here, you couldn’t rush a meal.
Lose a tooth, and it was gone for good.
Especially a front tooth.
“Boss, what am I supposed to do about my tooth?” Celia asked, her words whistling through the gap.
“As long as you don’t talk, no one will notice,” Douglas said, glancing at her.
Celia had no words.
Just then, the sound of slurping drifted over from the side. The rich smell of instant noodles and the way Hayley’s group slurped them straight from the bowl made Celia’s eyes practically light up.
She was so jealous that she could’ve gone insane.
How the hell were they eating something that good and that easy? Meanwhile, she had chipped her front tooth just trying to bite into a Hearthfall cake.
“Who the hell are those people?” Celia snapped, clearly in a foul mood.
“They got here before us,” Preston said, chewing on a cake softened with water. “When you came in, you saw that stripped-down car blocking the entrance, right?”
“Yeah. You guys did that?”
“Us? No way. It was already like that when we arrived. They set it up to block the zombies outside. By the time I got in, the ones inside the complex were already cleared out. Whoever they are, they’re not ordinary.”
Douglas’s expression turned serious at that.
Celia, on the other hand, didn’t buy it for a second.
Cleared out? Blocking zombies? More like they just got lucky. There weren’t that many residents in

Clearwater Residences to begin with. Maybe they just happened to walk in without running into any
zombies.
“Oh, right. She knows them,” Preston said suddenly, remembering Jocelyn. He waved her over. “Come here and finish what you were saying.”
He still hadn’t gotten all the answers he wanted.
Jocelyn stepped closer to them.
“How many abilities does that woman actually have?” he asked.
“At least eight,” Jocelyn said after a moment of thought.
“Eight?!”
Everyone around them stared, eyes wide in disbelief.
“Yes. When she used the ability scanner at the Academy, there were at least that many colors showing,” Jocelyn said seriously. “White, red, yellow, blue, green, gold, purple, silver, and even some I couldn’t really describe.”
Their eyes widened even more.
Eight abilities, minimum.
Did someone like that even exist?
“I don’t buy it,” Celia said, her words slightly slurred through the gap in her teeth. “If what you’re saying is true, then with red, yellow, blue, green, and gold, she already covers all five elements. Add white for speed and strength, and silver for mental-variant gifts… That’s impossible. You’re exaggerating.”
