Chapter 768
Griffin was the kind of person people couldn’t stand.
Because he saw right through you
He joked around, acted loose, and was never serious on the surface. But behind all that, he caught every shift in emotion, ever flicker of thought. He was too sharp, too perceptive,
If he wanted to, there wasn’t a single person he couldn’t read.
“You’re the same,” Hayley said.
“Yeah,” Griffin replied with a crooked smile. “Guess we are similar.”
They were both the kind of people who cared too much about family, and neither of them had ever had a good one. Perhaps when you grew up in something broken, you held onto even the smallest piece of warmth like it was everything.
“Go,” Griffin said again, “and take me with you.”
This time, Hayley smiled. “Alright.”
Just like that, the weight on her shoulders seemed to lift.
Ascendant Creed? What the hell were they supposed to be?
She had already crushed the Sovereign Academy.
The Sovereign Research Institute, Sovereign Industries, the Sovereign Legion… She would tear those down, too.
All she needed were their locations.
Right now, she needed to track down every one of those organizations so she could hit them, one by one.
If they didn’t give Ruby back, Hayley would carve her way through every single one of their branches. If they dared lay a hand or Ruby, she would burn Ascendant Creed to the ground, no matter the cost.
One way or another, they were her enemy now. 1

Hayley stepped forward and walked toward the aircraft.
What caught her off guard was the pilot.
“Boss! It’s me!” Tyler called out, his face lighting up the second he recognized her.
“You?” Hayley blinked, surprised.
Tyler hurried out of the helicopter. He was dressed in a clean white uniform now, a fresh ID badge pinned to his chest
C8987.
“I got promoted,” he said quickly. “I’m an official employee of the Sovereign Academy now.”
“What about the others?”
“I don’t know. They were taken somewhere else.”
“Which department are you in?”

“The Sovereign Research Institute!” Tyler said, excitement spilling out of him. “Turns out the Sovereign Academy is just th lowest-level division. There are a bunch of higher ones above it. I’m a junior staff member at the Research Institute now.”
“Where is it?”
Tyler shook his head. “They didn’t tell me. Said I’d only be allowed back to headquarters after I finish this mission.”
Hayley nodded, understanding,
Someone at his level wouldn’t know anything important yet. This was probably his first real assignment.
“Oh, right,” Tyler added, glancing around at the unfamiliar faces filling the island. “I’m here to pick someone up for Fairfiel
Who’s going?”
Everything felt off to him.
It had only been two days, but the entire place looked like it had changed hands/Wasn’t this the main island of the Sovereign Academy?
“I am,” Hayley said.
She turned and strode forward.
