Chapter 767
A crowd stood in silence, watching Hayley tear through the Sovereign Academy like a force of nature, killing her way across the
entire island.
No one spoke.
At the front, the man watched the feed as Hayley swept through every last corner. The excitement in his eyes slowly deepened into something heavier, more serious.
“Didn’t expect her to be this tough.”
He hadn’t seen this coming.
His gaze locked onto the screen, following Hayley’s figure as she moved with wave after wave of fearless operators at her back.
“So she’s not just strong on her own. She’s built something big behind her, too Interesting. Really interesting.”
He said it twice. The fact that she had actually led people straight into the Sovereign Academy and crushed it lit something sharp
in his eyes.
Hayley was too tough.
The man curled his lips slightly. The black-and-gold SS card on his chest caught the light.
“Notify headquarters. This one’s not going to break. Hard tactics won’t work.”
From morning to dusk, Hayley and her people combed through every inch of the island.
They didn’t find Ruby or even a single S-level staff member. Even Tyler and his group were gone without a trace.
After completely taking control of the Sovereign Academy, Hayley stood in the center of the island, her expression grim.
The island’s broadcast system crackled to life, a cold voice cutting through the air.
“Congratulations, No. 7913. You are now the new leader of this year’s Sovereign Academy. Your performance has exceeded our expectations. We would like to reopen negotiations regarding your aunt, Ruby.
“She is indeed in our custody. She is currently safe. We’d like to propose a deal.
“One of our people, Professor K, is trapped in Fairfield, caught in a zombie swarm. We want you to extract him.
“If you bring him back alive, we will exchange him for your aunt.”
Standing there, Hayley listened as her eyes turned colder, inch by inch.
“Why should I trust you?”
“We will send a helicopter to the Sovereign Academy tomorrow. There will be only a pilot onboard, along with Professor K’S location and some supplies. The choice is yours.”
The broadcast cut off.
Hayley stood there, unmoving.
“Hayley.”
“Hey.”
“Boss.”
People gathered around her.

“We can keep searching for Ruby, If they touch her, we’ll wipe them out. If it takes a year, we search for a year. Ten years, then ten. We’ll keep going as long as it takes.”
“Enough.” Hayley cut them off, her voice low. She looked at them. “I’ll think it through myself.”
She pushed past them and walked out alone.
At the shoreline, she lit a cigarette. Then another. She smoked one pack after the other.
A while later, Griffin walked up beside her.
“Go,” he said. “Take me with you.”
That made Hayley turn.
Everyone else had tried to stop her. Liam, Milo, Leonard. Every one of them told her not to go.
Only Griffin told her to do it.
