Chapter 880
Leonard was the one who had been with Hayley the longest.
He was her first real subordinate His rank number was right behind Summer’s, and he was the first human member of the Haylight League.
But after that, every time Hayley went out, she always brought Griffin.
Never him.
“Captain Gorgeous, what’s up?”
Leonard heard Griffin’s cheerful voice and felt the weight in his chest sink a little deeper. He lowered his head.
Then came a heavy thud.
“Ow! What did I do?”
“You exist, that’s what you did! I can’t stand guys like you, playing both sides, no loyalty at all! You say one thing but think another. Can you try being loyal for once?”
Griffin stood there, completely speechless.
Leonard couldn’t help it. A laugh slipped out.
Hayley gave Griffin a solid beating.
Then Leah’s voice cut in again. “Who are you talking about?”
Hayley turned instantly. “Did I say your name?”
“There are only a few people here. If not us, then who?” Leah shot back, standing up.
Hayley let out a short, amused laugh.
That only made Leah more agitated.
“You just don’t like Josh and me! What did we ever do to you? Do you even know how long I’ve loved him? I loved him before Maisie did! Do you know how much it hurt watching them together? They’ve been together 15 years. That’s how long I waited!
“You don’t understand anything! You just stand there acting righteous, judging us like you’re better than everyone! If you really think about it, the one who isn’t loved is the real outsider. Maisie’s the outsider, not me!”
Hayley listened to Leah’s heated rant, and it completely upended everything she thought she knew. She let out a faint scoff and rose to her feet.
In the next instant, she teleported herself right in front of Leah.
A sharp crack echoed through the room. Hayley sent Leah flying with a slap so fast that no one even saw it happen.
“Unbelievable. I’ve seen people mess around before, but you? You’ve got nerve.”
Hayley’s patience snapped. Leah had asked for this.
Hayley grabbed her by the collar and started slapping her again and again.
“Call it what it is. You went after someone else’s man, and now you’re dressing it up as love. So Maisie’s isn’t love, but yours is? Who do you think you are? Acting innocent when you’re the one tearing into someone else’s relationship. You’re despicable!
“You wedge yourself between a married couple, wait for your chance, then make your move. Out of all the men in the world, you had to go after someone else’s. And now, you’re twisting it into ‘whoever isn’t loved is the outsider’? ‘That’s just pathetic!”

“Stop it!”
By the time Leah’s face was swollen and bruised, Josh finally snapped out of it.
His expression darkened as he stepped forward, anger rising.
Flames flared to life in his palm
Hayley saw it. A second later, she kicked him straight in the chest.
“I almost forgot about you, you jerk!”
