Ding! [Reward: Mental–variant Gift!]
Hayley was completely stunned when she heard that announcement.
The third crystal–core reward pack only had one prize–but that one was a gift!
Even someone as steady and experienced as Hayley couldn’t help being blown away by such a huge reward.
A mental–variant gift!
She had heard of it in her past life. People with mental–variant gifts were the strongest of all the Gifted. Out of ten thousand Gifted, maybe one would have a mental–variant gift.
Mental–variant Gifted could see the gifts of others. Their attacks came straight from the mind; one glance from powerful mental Gifted could kill a normal person. They were at the very top of the Gifted world.
Ding! [Gift detected. Would you like to claim it?]
“Yes!”
Of course, she’d claim it for herself! What, was she supposed to give it away?
The moment she accepted it, Hayley felt as if someone had slammed a hammer into her head.
Unlike the wood and water–element gifts she’d gotten from others before, this one hurt a lot.
Her mind went blank, and when she finally came back to herself, she noticed something new in her vision.
When she looked at her dogs, she saw a faint red glow around them. Summer’s glow was the darkest.
The darker the color, the more dangerous they were.
She could somehow sense their fighting power.
When she glanced at herself, she saw streams of blue and green light flickering across her body.
Blue and green…
Those were gifts!
So that was what the colors meant.
Hayley finally had her first real gift, one that was truly hers.
She looked at all the rewards she’d collected today: a recon–strike drone system, Valenex, an emergency pill, about 1,000 pounds of beef, and 100 solar panels.
If she kept building up her base like this, the future looked bright.
Feeling excited, Hayley walked out of the shelter.
Outside, Leonard had already finished cooking. “Dinner’s ready. Made some sandwiches and fried eggs.”
Hayley nodded and waved him over. “Come here a sec.”
“What’s up?”
“It’s time I told you something you should probably know.‘

Leonard blinked, unsure what she meant.

Hayley pulled out her phone and pressed a command button. Behind her, the tower’s roof split open, and Leonard watched in disbelief as a swarm of drones flew out into the sky.
These are our base drones. Just a little project I’ve been working on,” Hayley said casually.
Leonard froze. He stared at the flying military–grade drones, completely dumbfounded.
No way. Those weren’t just any drones they were recon–strike drones!
What the hell? Just a little project? She freaking built these?!
After the initial shock, he couldn’t even bring himself to doubt it.
