Stupid woman, couldn't she tell that the pretty lady was totally fake?
He was drawing a whale, but she handed him a green marker like she was colorblind. She clearly didn't like drawing, but she had to pretend she really enjoyed playing with him.
Just like that aunt from the Sargent family, totally fake.
Also, how was she pretty?
Archer didn't say a word.
Harriet wasn't discouraged and kept poking his little arm. “Do you like Disney World? We're going tomorrow, it's way more fun than a regular amusement park...”
“Disney World?” Seraphina's excited little voice rang through the car. “Mommy, can I take a picture with LinaBell?”
“Of course you can!” Harriet booped her little nose. “Tomorrow, you will be LinaBell herself!”
“What about today?”
“Today, today we're going to the beach to catch little fishes, pick up seashells, and dig in the sand...”
“Wow!!! I love you, Mommy!”
Approaching 12 o'clock, the morning session of the conference concluded amidst enthusiastic applause.
Before the crowd could disperse, Jason was already surrounded by many people.
“Mr. Whitaker, your speech just now was excellent. Is it convenient to schedule a time for an exclusive interview?”
“Mr. Whitaker, our CEO would like to invite you to visit our company and give us some guidance!”
He didn't get a moment of peace until he barely managed to walk into the restaurant. Looking up, Jason saw several leaders from the organizing committee.
After a few rounds of tea, the topics at the dining table gradually lightened up.
Chairman Lawrence, sitting next to him, chuckled and said, “I heard you brought your wife along. So, will Mrs. Whitaker be attending the appreciation reception tonight?”
Jane's heart skipped a beat.
She had been abroad for five years. This time, upon her return, she held the title of Vice President at Quentin Corp.
But no one present today recognized her; they assumed she was Jason's secretary or perhaps a high-ranking executive of the Whitaker Group.
He wouldn't let a fool like Harriet attend the reception; after all, the risk factor was too high.
So, she would definitely be the most suitable candidate.
Sure enough, Jason politely declined, “She won't be coming.”
Chairman Lawrence paused, his gaze subconsciously shifting to Jane beside Jason.
Problems arising weren't the issue.
Being able to solve problems was true capability.
It was also time to let him see clearly who was truly the most suitable person to be Mrs. Whitaker.
“Ma'am, your phone...”
When Lana ran over holding the phone.
Harriet was vigorously digging in the sand with a small shovel.
Looking across the massive beach, all you could see were little kids, tanned dark but with faces full of smiles.
The smile on Seraphina's face never ceased.
Even the little iceberg's expression had softened and become much livelier.
Harriet felt this trip wasn't a waste after all.
Shaking the sand off her hands, Harriet took the phone. “Hello?”
The voice on the other end was unfamiliar but enthusiastic. “Hello Mrs. Whitaker, I am Ms. Hunter from the administrative department of the summit. The appreciation reception is scheduled for seven-thirty tonight. What time would be convenient to pick you up?”
