The Ending She Read (And the One He Rewrote) novel Chapter 35

The spacious cabin was divided into a business area and a leisure area by function.

Lana was watching TV.

Teresa and the driver were preparing to disembark.

On the other side was the lounge area.

Jason, looking sharp in his suit, faced his laptop, his fingers tapping lightly from time to time.

Archer, beside him, was drawing, his seriousness evident just from the top of his head.

On the other side of Archer was Jane, gentle, elegant, and composed.

At a glance, the lounge area seemed to have a built-in barrier of harmony.

The three people inside the barrier looked like the happiest and most perfect family of three in the world.

“Archer...”

Seraphina ran forward.

The barrier was broken, and the three of them all looked up at the same time.

Jane revealed a perfectly measured smile on her face.

Luke Landon had said that Jason never brought Harriet along when they hung out.

Keith Sterling had also said that, aside from the Whitaker Manor, he had barely seen her a few times.

She had been back for so many days, and Jason hadn't shown the slightest intention of introducing Harriet to her.

It was clear he never planned to bring her into their circle.

Five years and she still couldn't capture his heart; it was a total waste of a pretty face!

However, she should thank her for her incompetence!

“Harriet...” Beside the large and small icy faces, Jane's bright, vibrant smile seemed especially dazzling. “Good morning!”

“Morning!”

Harriet replied, the little bit of romantic fantasy in her heart vanishing completely the moment she saw Jane.

Looking at Jason again, she couldn't help but feel a mixture of mockery and coldness.

She was stupid; she didn't know his precious first love was going on a sweet couple's trip with him, and she had impulsively brought the kids along for a summer vacation out of sudden maternal love.

What about him?

He knew perfectly well Jane was going, yet he agreed to let her tag along.

Did he want to have a woman on each arm to prove his boundless charm, or did he want her to recognize the reality and back off?

Also...

His first love was back, yet last night he had declared they weren't divorced and he was willing to fulfill his marital obligations.
