The Ending She Read (And the One He Rewrote) novel Chapter 4

Jason looked sharp and imposing in his tailored suit, his cold and stoic demeanor making him seem as untouchable as a god.

Beside him, Jane wore a sleek black cocktail dress, looking as elegant and regal as a black swan. She wore a worried expression, though even the slight crease between her brows looked exceptionally beautiful.-

As the two stood in the bustling bus terminal, the drab surroundings seemed to light up, transforming into a runway show.

And surrounding them were hundreds of men in black suits, lined up and ready for action.

“Lock down the terminal. Do not let a single bus leave!”

Jason commanded coldly.

Harriet rushed forward to stop him. “You can't!”

Meeting Harriet's bloodshot, frantic eyes and disheveled appearance, Jane knew instantly that she had made the right choice to rush over here. “Harriet, emergencies call for drastic measures. At a critical moment like this, you should just listen to Jason!”

In the past, hearing her call him 'Jason' so intimately would have sent Harriet into a crazy tailspin.

But in this moment, Harriet couldn't care less about Jane's petty manipulations.

She just looked at Jason with burning anxiety. “Jason, you can't lock down the terminal. It'll alert them! Once the kidnapper knows we're here, they'll use the chaos to slip away. If we miss this golden window, finding Seraphina will be like finding a needle in a haystack!”

Jason frowned, looking at the rationally analyzing Harriet as if he were seeing her for the very first time.

Jane grabbed Jason's arm. “Jason, don't delay! Every minute wasted puts Seraphina in more danger, Jason!”

Jason shot Harriet a freezing glance and ordered the bodyguards, “Move out!”

“Yes, sir!”

Bastard!!!

The men dispersed.

Harriet spun around and sprinted.

“Hey, why are you cutting the line?”

“How rude...”

“Please show your...”

The ticket collector at the gate immediately spotted the commotion. Just as they opened their mouth to stop her, Harriet executed an agile leap, vaulting right over the turnstile and darting through the gate.

“Security, someone skipped the fare at Gate 2...”

The collector yelled into their walkie-talkie for transit security.

Harriet raced into the terminal.
