Having said her piece, she completely ignored him, stepped forward to take Connor's hand, and turned to walk straight out of the art room.
Silas watched the mother and son leave, his face darkening slightly. He ordered a maid to see them out before turning around and walking back to the living room.
"Class is over?" Madeline asked casually as he walked in.
"Yes," Silas replied, taking a seat.
"You had a student today?" Sienna asked, looking slightly apologetic. "We must have intruded."
"Oh, it wasn't a university student," Silas smiled warmly. "Killian's wife just brought Connor over for his lesson. Did she not come in to say hello to you?"
Natalie rolled her eyes in disgust. "As if she would. That's just how classless she is."
Madeline noticed his expression and asked with concern, "You look a little pale. Did something happen?"
"It's nothing. Just a trivial matter, not worth mentioning," Silas waved his hand, playing the magnanimous gentleman.
But Sienna immediately caught the underlying implication.
"What happened?"
"It's just that Jillian doesn't seem to trust my teaching. Her words were quite hostile and sarcastic. Perhaps my skills really aren't up to par."
Sienna instantly felt deeply embarrassed and furious on his behalf.
Natalie frowned, her voice dripping with indignation. "She is so ungrateful! The only reason you even agreed to teach Connor is out of respect for my brother! If she hadn't married him, she'd never even have the chance to be in the same room as someone of your status. How dare she give you attitude!"
Silas just smiled faintly, putting on a display of humble grace, choosing not to respond.
Shortly after, Sienna and Natalie said their goodbyes. Instead of returning to the main Quincy estate, they drove straight to The Yale Residences.
Sienna shot her daughter a stern look, feeling a wave of exhaustion.
She had meticulously raised Natalie since birth, pouring endless resources into grooming her, expecting her to become a flawless, poised heiress.
Instead, as Natalie grew older, she had only become more narrow-minded and foul-mouthed.
Sienna despised Jillian for being unrefined and lacking class.
But she also knew that in moments like this, her own daughter was acting worse than Jillian ever did.
Sienna couldn't help but agree with her son. "Your brother is right. Watch what you say from now on, and stop acting so classless."
Natalie had intended to drag Jillian through the mud, only to end up getting scolded herself. Furious and humiliated, she could only nod sullenly.
Just then, the sound of footsteps echoed from the hallway, and the door was pushed open.
