She had despised Jillian's pathetic demeanor so deeply that she had never even bothered to look her in the eye.

"It must be a coincidence," Sienna shot back stiffly, forcefully pushing down the bizarre feeling rising in her chest. "I've never noticed it. Even if she does have one, it's just a fluke."

Seeing her reaction, the other friends immediately jumped in to smooth things over. "So what if she has a dimple? She could never compare to you, Sienna! You were the undisputed beauty of our circle in your youth, and even now, your elegance is unmatched."

The flattery managed to ease Sienna's mood slightly.

Once the chatter died down and her friends gradually left, that single sentence—"She looks quite a bit like you"—kept echoing in Sienna's mind, refusing to fade.

She subconsciously reached up and touched her own cheek, muttering in utter disbelief, "How is that possible... it's absolutely impossible."

Just then, a maid came into the room to clear the tea sets and fruit platters. Sienna impulsively asked, "Do you think Jillian looks like me?"

The older maid was caught off guard and looked up in confusion. "Ms. Sterling, who did you say? I didn't quite catch that."

Sienna snapped back to reality, burying the suspicion in her eyes, and waved her off dismissively. "It's nothing. You can go."

Mallory went to see Jillian.

Jillian was busy with work as she mentioned, "Preston came looking for me a few days ago, asking about you."

"What did he say?" Mallory perked up immediately, bursting with excitement.

"He wanted to know who your boyfriend was and how long you've been together."

"What did you tell him?"

"Nothing. I told him to find out for himself. He seemed to have a massive problem with me. He told me to stay away from you—probably scared I'm going to be a bad influence."

Mallory burst into booming laughter, as if it were the most ridiculous joke she had ever heard.

Jillian shot her a look of pure exasperation. "You have the nerve to laugh? In my entire life, that's the first time anyone has ever accused me of such a thing."
