Terrified she had let too much slip, Sienna quickly backtracked. "Nothing, nothing at all."

Shortly after they arrived at The Yale Residences, Killian returned from work.

Mrs. Zeller had the staff prepare a lavish feast.

Sienna hardly touched her own food. Instead, she constantly placed choice pieces of meat on Connor's plate and, in an unprecedented move, even peeled shrimp for him.

Killian watched her performance with an indifferent expression, saying nothing.

He knew it was all an act, but as long as she wasn't harming the boy, he saw no reason to expose her.

If she wanted to play the role of the devoted grandmother to salvage her reputation, she was welcome to try.

"Breaking up with Sylvia is for the best. Relationships end all the time. I'm sure she'll be upset for a while, but she'll bounce back."

Sienna couldn't hide the thrill in her voice.

Killian offered a noncommittal hum.

"Moving forward, your focus should be on the boy. He's growing up. Kids his age need their parents' love more than anything. You should let him see his mother more often. Who knows? It might even help mend things between the two of you," she suggested cheerfully.

Killian shot her another strange look before turning to his son. "Con, go wash your hands."

Confused, Connor assumed he had made a mess while eating and obediently scampered off to the bathroom.

"Jillian has filed for a divorce settlement. We're going to court," Killian informed her evenly.

Sienna's smile froze, and her heart plummeted into her stomach.

Her earlier joy hadn't even lasted five minutes.

"How did it come to this?" she murmured.

"What are you going to do?" she pressed.

"Fight it in court, obviously. If she wants a divorce, I don't care."

Sienna looked at him, completely torn.
