With Mrs. Zeller gone, a new nanny had been transferred from the main estate—someone trusted by Eleanor.

However, Sienna Sterling still picked Connor up after school every day. After picking him up, she'd drop him off at The Yale Residences, hang around for a bit, and vanish before Killian even got home.

Ever since their confrontation, Sienna had been avoiding him, whether intentionally or not.

Connor was sitting at his desk, doing his homework.

Killian stood silently watching him. Connor's handwriting was elegant; even as an elementary schooler, his penmanship was exceptionally sharp and mature.

It reminded Killian of how beautiful Jillian's handwriting was.

"Dad," Connor noticed his father watching him, looking up with an eager expression, waiting for praise.

"You write very well."

Having delivered the compliment, Killian asked, "Con, Aunt Patricia's birthday is this weekend. Do you want Mom to go with you?"

"Yes," Connor replied emphatically.

"Alright. Then you tell Mom to take you."

Connor blinked in confusion. "Will she agree?"

"She certainly won't if you don't ask. Like I told you before, you have to fight for what you want. You don't want to lose to a little girl, do you?"

Connor's face fell. Of course he didn't want to lose to Stella.

Even though their relationship had thawed slightly, at the end of the day, she was still the one who had stolen his mother.

"Right. I won't lose to her," Connor said.

"Then call Mom yourself."

Killian stepped out of the room, unbuckled his watch, and took a quick shower. By the time he walked back in wearing his pajamas, he could hear Connor on the phone with Jillian.

"I'm not sure if I'll be free that day," Jillian was saying. In reality, she just wanted nothing to do with the Quincy family. What did their birthdays have to do with her?
