Sienna knew it was him, but she didn't even lift her eyes.

For the few days since Sean's return, the two had gone out of their ways to avoid each other. Even when they crossed paths, neither bothered to say a word.

Sean considered his options before taking a seat across from her. His gaze landed on the glass teapot, and he offered a slight smile. "I see you've taken a liking to tea."

Having grown up in Metro City, Sean had always been an avid tea drinker.

But Sienna had spent her youth abroad and only returned as an adult. She had always preferred coffee.

Back in their prime, they were a disastrous mismatch in habits and temperaments. Sean found Sienna to be a pretentious, spoiled princess.

And Sienna thought Sean was unromantic and brutally boring.

For the first two years of their marriage, they actually tried to make it work, but the harder they tried, the more cracks appeared.

Eventually, Sean moved abroad permanently. When he finally returned, he brought Killian with him.

Sienna had screamed, fought, and cried, but none of it mattered.

Eleanor had decreed that since the child had Quincy blood, he would be raised in the Quincy household.

Consumed by bitterness, the only revenge Sienna could conjure was having an affair of her own—having her own child, just to shove the betrayal right back in her husband's face.

But she had fundamentally misunderstood her position. The Sterling family lacked the immense power of the Quincy empire. The marriage alliance had always been a desperate grab for power on her family's end.

In the end, to protect the lucrative business ventures tying the two families together, her baby was exiled, while Sean's was kept.

From that day on, her marriage to Sean had been dead and buried.

"I actually enjoy this black tea. I drank it quite a bit while I was abroad."

Sean reached out and inspected the tea tin. His tone was incredibly gentle, and when he looked at Sienna, there was a faint, apologetic plea in his eyes.

Sienna didn't even look up. "I don't like it," she said frostily. She then turned to the maid. "Swap out this tea next time."

The smile at the corners of Sean's eyes slowly faded.

After a long silence, he spoke in a heavy voice, "You really do still hate me after all these years."

Sienna scoffed. "Shouldn't I?"
