"I'm looking for your boss, Mr. Quincy," Sean said.

Instinctively, all the employees turned their heads toward Killian.

Killian looked up, his eyes locking with Sean's.

The hostility in Killian's gaze was completely unfiltered, but Sean simply smiled and walked over.

"It's been a long time, Killian," he said in a warm tone.

"Why are you here?" Killian demanded coldly.

"You refused to see me, so I came to see you. I get that you're angry with me, but you can't just avoid going home forever. Your grandmother is getting older. You need to visit her more often..."

Killian looked away impatiently, clearly ignoring the lecture.

When Sean finally finished, Killian snapped, "Is there anything else? If not, you can leave."

Sylvia couldn't resist nudging him gently. "Don't speak to your father like that. It's disrespectful."

Sean looked at Sylvia. She looked vaguely familiar, but he couldn't quite place her. Seeing how intimate she was with Killian, he asked with a smile, "Are you Connor's mom?"

Sylvia froze. From their exchange, she knew exactly who this man was, not to mention the striking resemblance between him and Killian.

She just hadn't expected him to mistake her for Connor's mother.

"I..." Sylvia hesitated.

For some twisted reason, a part of her deeply wanted to claim that identity.

Everyone in the room was watching them, including Jillian.

"Who is that guy?" Jillian's assistant whispered.

Jillian kept eating. "Killian's father."

"Huh? The boss has a dad?"

"Obviously. He didn't just spawn out of thin air."

"No, I mean, the press never talks about his father. I figured the guy was dead."

Jillian snorted a laugh. Killian's drama was none of her business, and she certainly had no intention of going over there.

"You're mistaken. It's not her," Killian said flatly.
