"You've heard of me?" Jillian asked, genuinely surprised.

"Absolutely. Hans Richter mentioned you."

Jillian suddenly remembered Hans, the regional director for Rohmbach Automotive. They had met and spoken before.

She never imagined that a nobody like her would be brought up by someone as prominent as Hans.

Leon proceeded to shower her with praise, heavily implying that he considered her an absolute genius.

During her university days, Jillian used to hear compliments like this all the time. Now, however, after years of systemic emotional erosion, the respect and admiration barely registered in her heart.

So what if she used to be a genius? Her life was still a catastrophic mess.

She listened to him with a placid expression. "You flatter me, Leon."

Leon smiled and handed her his business card. It read 'Leon Q.'

Daniel joked, "You can just call him Mr. Q."

Jillian offered a polite smile. She obviously wasn't going to call a professional contact that.

With a final nod, she excused herself.

Leon watched her walk out before picking up his coffee to take a slow sip.

Daniel stared at him, feeling a wave of surprise.

Leon genuinely didn't recognize her.

Leon Q. The 'Q' stood for Quincy; his real name was Leon Quincy, the youngest son of Killian's uncle and the absolute favorite of Eleanor Quincy.

Years ago, right after Killian's grandfather passed away, Eleanor had toyed with the idea of changing the heir. Her preferred choice had always been Leon.

But Killian had struck with ruthless precision, exiling his uncle's entire family overseas and permanently severing Eleanor's ambitions.

Since then, Killian's relationship with his uncle's family had been painfully strained, especially with Leon.

However, after returning overseas, Leon had carved out his own empire. He co-founded an AI startup with friends that exploded into a massive commercial success, penetrating markets across the globe.

Because his business was concentrated abroad, his status in the international tech sphere was actually higher than his standing back home.

After work, Daniel invited Jillian to join the welcome dinner for Leon, which also included a few of their mutual friends.

Jillian had already promised Connor she would pick him up from school today. She told Daniel she needed to grab her son and drop him off at home first.

Daniel didn't mind. He and the others took Leon ahead to the restaurant.

The dinner was hosted at The Zenith Gardens, a stunning venue situated atop a seven-star hotel right in the heart of the city.

An immaculate, crystal-clear artificial lake stretched out beneath them. As the evening breeze swept across the water, the shimmering ripples cascaded infinitely toward the horizon.

In the distance, the solemn, majestic architecture of the city's historic palaces stood bathed in golden light.

Daniel pulled a waiter aside to let them know one more guest would be arriving shortly.

Leon looked curious. "We're still missing someone?"

"Jillian. She had to go home to drop off her kid."

"Her kid? Married young, huh?"
