Chapter 193 The Genius Vet Westin
Chapter 193 The Genius Vet Westin
Nina stuffed the boxed snacks into Alex’s hands, her lips curling into a mocking smile. “I knew you wouldn’t have anything prepared, so I packed you a last meal.
“It might not match the Summer family’s usual spread, but compared to the prison grub you’ll be stuck with for the next few decades, this is a real feast.”
Charles, handcuffed, finally realized Nina hadn’t packed the snacks for herself. She’d been waiting to send him off for good. He burst out, furious. “Nina, you’re crossing the line.”
Nina tilted her head, smirking. “Do you think this is crossing the line? What about the twenty-two years the Summer family put me through?
“Don’t get ahead of yourself. The real ‘good days’ in prison are still waiting for you.”
Alex hurled the snack bag to the floor. “I’m going to find out the truth and clear my father’s name.”
He whipped around to Simon, gritting his teeth. “Simon, just wait. You’re the one who’s going to get written up.”
Simon didn’t even look his way, just gestured briskly. “Take him away.”
Two officers stepped up, one on each side of Charles, and escorted him out.
Simon exchanged a nod with Nina. “Nina, let me get to it,”
Nina winked at him. “Got it. Simon, you were awesome out there today.”
Simon paused, glancing back at her with that proud little look on her face. He couldn’t help but shake his head and chuckle, his eyes filled with helpless affection.
He turned around, his face returning to its usual stern look, and led his team out under everyone’s watchful eyes.
Right now, the area outside the Prestige Reception Hall was packed with influential figures and a swarm of media reporters. With cameras flashing nonstop, Charles, the once high-flying chairman of the Summer Group, was escorted out in full view of the crowd.
Reporters jostled for position, shouting out tough questions.
One of the reporters asked, “Mr. Summer, what do you have to say to all the shareholders of the Summer Group?” Another reporter chimed in, “We’ve heard from insiders that Claire’s vaccine may have copied the achievements of Nina, your adopted daughter. What’s your response to that?”
“Did you order the arson at Forest Isle Zoo? Why do you hold such a grudge against Ms. Summer?” A third asked.
With a barrage of questions raining down and cameras flashing everywhere, Charles was shoved into the police car, the blinding lights only adding to his humiliation.
And this was just the beginning.
The reception hall was dead silent, everyone still reeling from the sudden turn of events.
The six experts from the Summer Group looked at each other, totally lost and stunned.
The expert consultation hadn’t even started, and now the chairman was getting arrested right in front of everyone. It was like the sky was falling.
Karim was completely floored. The Charles he’d just been joking around with was now just another guy in cuffs.
He spun around to Alex, his voice dripping with disbelief. “Weren’t you supposed to be the security expert here? How could you not even realize your own father was a criminal?”
Alex hurried forward. “Mr. Karim, just hear me out…”
“Back off. Stay away from me,” Karim barked, immediately calling for his bodyguards. “Bodyguards. Get over here.”
The well-trained bodyguards rushed over, closing ranks around him and shielding him from everyone else.
Once he’d caught his breath, Karim turned to Quentin, genuinely grateful. “Mr. Hayes, thank you so much. If you hadn’t brought the police up here just in time, I don’t know what would’ve happened.”
Quentin just shook his head slightly, his gaze :

Quentin said, “If you want to thank someone, than ive we one who has been in contact with the police this whole time.

“I just led the police up here faster.”
Karim turned to Nina, looking genuinely earnest. “Ms. Summer, after what just happened, I totally trust your skills and your integrity. Please, I hope you can help my horse.”
“Alright, let’s go. We can’t afford to waste any time,” Nina replied crisply. As she turned, she couldn’t help glancing at Quentin.
She was so used to seeing him in a suit. This was the first time she’d ever seen him in an equestrian outfit, and it caught her off guard for a moment.
Just as she was sneaking a look, Quentin seemed to sense it and looked up, catching her eyes right away.
Seeing she’d been caught, Nina cracked a playful smile. She grinned and said straight out, “You look great in that getup. today.”
Quentin was thrown off by her blunt compliment, coughed a little, and glanced away. “There’s a horse show this afternoon.”
“Oh, that explains it.” Nina nodded, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “Too bad I’ve got to go earn some cash. I guess I’ll have to miss it.”
She said it and hurried after Karim.
Quentin paused for a moment before finally saying softly, “There’ll be plenty of chances in the future.”
Karim didn’t even spare a glance at Claire and Alex anymore, just gestured for Nina and Quentin to go ahead. “Ms. Summer, please.”
Seeing Karim about to leave, Claire forced herself to stay calm and rushed forward, blocking his way. “Sir, this is all Nina’s scheme to keep us from treating your horse. Please, you have to believe in the Summer Group’s capabilities.”
She pointed at the experts behind her. “All our experts are ready. Just give us a chance to show you what we can do.” Karim’s brows furrowed, and he shook his head firmly. “After everything that’s happened, I just can’t trust the Summer Group anymore.
“Why should I trust any team run by a chairman facing criminal charges?”
Claire forced herself to stay calm and stepped forward. “You might not trust the Summer Group, but you can trust true authority.
“We specially invited Professor Nichols to oversee this.
“He’s waiting for us at the Animal Wellness Center right now.”
“Westin Nichols?” Karim froze, his voice full of disbelief.
Nina, standing off to the side, suddenly snapped her head up, surprise flashing across her face.
Claire jumped on the opportunity. “Professor Nichols’s family has been horse doctors for three generations. He’s got a real knack for equine medicine. I bet his name rings a bell for you.”
Karim’s eyes widened, his disbelief giving way to awe. “You… you actually got him to come here?”
Westin was known as a prodigy in the global veterinary scene. He became an honorary professor at the Royal Veterinary College when he was only twenty-six.
He was always jetting around the world, wrapped up in all sorts of hush-hush animal medicine projects. Nobody ever really knew where he’d pop up next.
For equestrian enthusiasts like Karim, Westin’s name was practically a legend.
He wasn’t just a leading figure in veterinary medicine. He was also a top-tier rider, with multiple golds at international equestrian events, and an expert’s grasp of equine physiology and behavior.
Karim had tried to contact him several times, but because of the high level of secrecy surrounding Westin’s projects, he never managed to get a response.
Claire caught the look of shock on Karim’s face and couldn’t help but smile. ‘With Auntie in Juniper backing us up, it really makes a difference,’ she thought.
Claire spoke with absolute confidence, “That’s right. Professor Nichols is one of our key strategic partners, and we’re in
constant contact.
“With Professor Nichols personally overseeing your horse’s treatment, and our team of six top experts consulting together, I’m certain your horse will make a swift and full recovery.”
