The Fragrance Queen's Final Note novel Chapter 105

Stanley sat rigid behind his desk, one hand propping up his forehead as he glared murderously at Miles.

Miles felt entirely wronged. "Mr. Zimmer, I swear I didn't know Ms. Xylon had tagged along. If I knew, do you really think I'd hide it from you?"

"Wouldn't you?"

Miles swallowed hard. He tried to explain his innocence. "I just didn't want her getting too close to you, but I wouldn't be cruel enough to use this as an excuse to humiliate her on purpose..."

Stanley shot him a lethal glare. "Go get Queenie Xylon a clean set of clothes first, then bring her to my office. As for those other two, let them wait outside!"

Hearing this, Miles frantically waved his hands. "Mr. Zimmer, you absolutely cannot do that..."

He pleaded earnestly, "Think about it. Zander is her husband. If you invite his wife in alone and lock him out, any man would get suspicious. So if you don't want to cause trouble for her, you have to control yourself."

Miles made his point painfully blunt. "What I'm saying is, you can covet another man's wife, but you can't be this painfully obvious about it."

"Who is coveting another man's wife?! You just love running your mouth and making up baseless rumors. Get out!" Stanley grabbed a file, pretending he was going to hurl it at him.

The receptionist led Renata's group into a designated waiting room. Before long, a steady stream of staff arrived, some bringing clean clothes, others carrying warm water.

Compared to the brutal water-hosing they had just endured, they were instantly being treated like VIPs.

Zander was firmly convinced this was entirely Renata's doing.

It was Renata's status as a renowned psychological consultant that had salvaged this disastrous situation.

The three of them changed out of their dripping clothes, and the Aurélle staff even thoughtfully provided hairdryers.

Sipping his water, Zander cast a pointed look at his wife sitting across from him. "Queenie, do you see this? This is the power of a career-driven woman. A person with a genuine aura commands respect wherever they go."

Queenie didn't even have the energy to roll her eyes at him. The image of him playing the valiant hero to save Renata out in the courtyard was already seared into her brain.

From the bottom of her heart, she was incredibly grateful to Stanley.

That unique 'welcoming ceremony' had given her mind a proper rinse, allowing her to see the true nature of this scumbag once again, and reminding her of her own youthful ignorance.
