The Fragrance Queen's Final Note novel Chapter 108

To prevent Zander from trying to force Queenie to apologize again, Stanley stood up.

"Forget it. Since Mr. Calvert came all this way to apologize in person, I'll drop the matter. You may leave."

Zander was thrilled. He immediately stood up but tried to push his luck. "I knew Mr. Zimmer was a forgiving man. As for your plans to buy shares in Evermore..."

Stanley clenched his fingers into a tight fist, his tone dangerously dark. "That was just talk. I haven't taken any action."

Receiving the exact answer he wanted, Zander beamed. "Excellent. Well, we won't take up any more of your time, Mr. Zimmer. We'll take our leave."

Just as the three of them turned and prepared to walk out.

Stanley suddenly spoke up again. "Ms. Xylon, wait a moment. Didn't you sign up for the Aurélle perfume competition? I have a few questions for you."

Zander had no idea Queenie had entered the perfume competition.

Hearing this out of nowhere, he looked completely baffled. "You signed up for the Aurélle perfume competition?"

Queenie replied coldly, "Yes."

Zander reacted as if he'd just heard the funniest joke in the world. "You really are fearless because you're totally ignorant. You actually have the nerve to enter a real perfume competition with your amateur, half-baked skills? I have no idea who gave you that kind of confidence."

He turned back to Stanley. "Mr. Zimmer, my wife is probably just having a momentary delusion. She doesn't have the talent to compete. The perfumes she messes around with are just her playing pretend at home, making herself feel special. It's totally unpresentable. If she actually enters your competition, she wouldn't even qualify for last place."

As the words left his mouth, not only was Stanley stunned, but even Miles—who usually stood in opposition to Queenie—was absolutely enraged.

Was that how a human being talked to his wife?

The fury Stanley had barely managed to suppress flared back to life. But right at the critical moment—

Ahem!
