The Fragrance Queen's Final Note novel Chapter 110

Queenie headed to a watchmaker's shop next.

She handed over the pocket watch and explained what she needed.

The watchmaker examined it for a long time before shaking his head. "You need to take this to a specialized tech place. The watches I sell don't have memory cards, so I don't have the proper tools to extract it safely. If I end up breaking it, who takes the blame?"

Queenie figured he had a point.

She eventually found a software repair company.

After tinkering with it for ages, they finally managed to extract the card. But her worst fear had come true!

Because the tiny memory card had been submerged in water, the computer could recognize it, but the files inside were corrupted.

She had no choice but to leave the card with the engineer to see if they could recover the data.

He promised to call her the second it was fixed.

At 4 PM, Zander actually showed up on time, pulling his car up to the front of her atelier.

Queenie brought out the birthday gift she had prepared for her grandfather—a rectangular cardboard box about twenty inches long, wrapped flawlessly in luxurious gold foil.

She had bought this gift a month ago. Inside was the Sage's Longevity Coffee Pot, crafted by the renowned artisan Louis Pasteur.

She had won it at an auction for a staggering 2.3 million.

When she moved out of the Calvert estate, she had forgotten to take it, but she later made a special trip back just to retrieve it.

Once in the car, she didn't say a single word to Zander the entire way.

Zander clearly had no desire to speak to her either.

When they first got married, the Xylon family had fiercely opposed the union. From that point on, Zander had harbored a deep-seated hatred for them. Even though they eventually accepted him, the damage was already done.

He despised every member of that family.

Over their three years of marriage, Zander practically never visited the Xylons unless it was a major holiday.

And even on the holidays, Queenie practically had to beg him to come.

In the eyes of the Xylons, they had made a massive sacrifice by accepting Zander. If he failed to show up at a major family event, Queenie was the one who would suffer their wrath.
