Queenie stopped dead in her tracks. She threw a disgusted glare over her shoulder. "I'm not a cheap escort you can order around to stroke your ego."
With that, she threw back the covers and climbed into bed.
Leaving him staring at her cold, unbothered back.
Zander stood frozen in the center of the room, his chest heaving with barely suppressed rage. He clenched his fists until his knuckles turned white, then slowly forced them open. Furious and humiliated, he stormed out of the room!
He had walked in overflowing with hope.

Instead of feeling the familiar rush of lust, Zander grabbed her wrists and pulled her off him.
His expression was rock hard. "I'm fixing my marriage. As of tonight, whatever twisted arrangement we had is over. From now on, you are strictly here for psychological counseling. Stop trying to seduce me."
He gave her a withering look, taking in the scandalous lingerie. "And stop parading around the house like that. Especially in my study. Queenie is home now, and I won't have her getting the wrong idea."
A vicious, glacial fury flashed in Renata's eyes.
That miserable bitch really did cast a spell on him...
But so what?
If Queenie could play mind games, Renata could play dirtier. She'd love to see whose hold on him was stronger.
"Zander, how can you be so cruel? You just toss me aside like I'm nothing? Didn't you say you couldn't live without me?
"I've never even asked you for a title or a commitment. I just wanted to comfort you in my own special way...
